Yeh, ving, they're priced pretty much the same, and i had a look and the recent stats of the Evo VIII say that it pips the WRX Sti (new one) by 20kw i think.

still doesnt put them in the same price bracket tho...
god I wish they'd drop the price... the scoob need competition other than some family car (commodore) :p

just strange i guess :odd:
In North America we have Honda & Acura because if you sold an NSX under the Honda name nobody would pay 80-100K for a Honda(known in N.America, as an economy car maker) y, so they came up with the Acura brand name like it's more prestigious. We have Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti, it's all about ego ladies.

Acura all the way

Acura NSX (This car is worthy enough to have its ownership as one of somebodies lifetime goals.)

PS: If that sentence makes sense. Pat yourself on the back!

I saw a '99ish Acura Integra Type-R. It was white with a massive fart pipe. But it had Red "H" badges instead of what should have been "A" Acura badges.

For some reason it made the car look better somehow. I know that the H emblem isn't very much of the front fascia but it seemed to square out the look of the the whole car. Its strange how such a small and subtle thing can alter the way you perceive things.

I think the NSX, Acura or Honda, is one of the best cars out there, but it is so underpowered. That will change with the next NSX as it is rumoured that it will have either a V10 or a V12 as the Japanese "Gentlemen's Rule" on horsepower in Japan limiting it to 280hp will be dead, so I've read rumours that it will have at least 500hp, that will be great because it will finally be able to compete speed wise with Ferrari's, cuz it already is a great handling car. I mean it gives a Z06 a run for it's money on a twisty track despite having 100 some odd horsepower less.

I read an article that Honda had already started developement on a 4.3L V8 for the next NSX. Apparently expecting power in the 100hp/Litre range as well.

A V10 or V12 would be sweet though. However, I think that would be a drastic change from the somewhat overacheiver image the NSX has now.

Actually SPEED Channel did a test on the new NSX (redesigned). It has a V8 (I think) and would need an upgrade or too to give a Z06 a run for its money. Looks fugin beautiful. I agree they need to bring some V8 Supercars into GT, watch it on SPEED alot...

It's too bad that the engine the NSX has is so underpowered, in the Speed World Challenge they had to add a supercharger just to keep-up with the Porsches, Vettes,Audis, etc.

what are you talking about!
The newests Honda NSX has a V6, there is no way they tested a newer model (unless it's a concept)
I highly dought that Honda will ever make a V8 engine for the NSX, mabe a V10 (similar to the ones Honda makes for their F1 cars) if they want to make the NSX a verry expensive super car like the Ferrari F60, but I dought a V8.

in my opinion, all JDM cars are better then US spec or Euro spec...EG: Altezza RS200 better then Lexus IS200, EK9 civic better then civic SiR, etc.

Ok my bad, but the car does handle very good you have to give it that, and it puts out respectable lap times given how underpowered it is.

Like some of you are saying, if they put in a de-tuned Honda Formula One engine in it like Ferrari did with the F50, it would turn even more heads :D

Yeah definitely. But maybe they could get Spoon or Mugen to help with developing the engine, I mean if Spoon can make a Civic engine rev to 15,000rpm+, imagine what they could do with a clean sheet for the NSX

The 2003 NSX-R is powered by a 3.2L V6 VTEC engine with around 280 hp (that's Japanese advertisement governed hp, so it actually might be more like with the GT-R).
And no the NSX isn't under powered, for it's weight. It's an amazing machine, almost as good as a GT-R.

People look at the NSX on paper and think it's underpowered.

The NSX consistently runs faster 1/4 mile times and 0-60's than such cars as the Corvette C5, Mustang SVT Cobra, Porsche Carrera.

Car and Driver drove it from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. Will someone please explain to me how that is possible? I know how, relentless and meticulous engineering.

There is ALOT more to a car than its power/weight ratio.

Furthermore, not only does the NSX beat many cars in straight line acceleration, but on the track, it walks away from the competition even further.

For instance, the SVT Mustang Cobra, which has a Supercharged 4.6L V8 pumping out 390hp, can only manage a 0-60 of 4.8 according to Car and Driver. The Mustang is a car on the complete opposite side of the spectrum, it uses a crappy transmission, has a weight distribution of 58/42 Front/Rear. No wonder it sucks so much on the track and doesnt even pull its weight in a drag race, which is what it prides itself on.

Oh I never said it doesn't perform good, it does, extremely well I might add, it's one of my favorite cars, but it is kinda underpowered horsepower wise versus some of it's rivals, I'm just saying imagine what it would do with 400+hp :D

That 's stock; one can easily extract lots of power out of it with parts from Mugen or any after market company. It's an incredible car.

Very true, I know if I was rich it would have a lot of Mugen parts in it :D

If their straight line performance is better than the Corvette like you say why is it that the NSX in the SCCA needs a turbo to keep up with the Vettes and Porche's? And why is it that Car and Driver picked the Vette over the NSX in their yearly Top 10?
