I've seen multiple videos that seem to both confirm and deny this, but, to all that have the game, is there a hood view, or only a roof view?

premiums:

roof, cockpit, bumper, behind

standards:

roof, bumper, behind

so your answer is: roof cam.

Did not see if a list was created, with the details.
There are clearly cars with hood view. See video in link above.

There are clearly cars with no hood view. See description AMAR212.

I guess we will just have to list them here in Hood, no Hood, so people can choose their cars better.

Indeed the hoodview you sometimes seem to get when you chose "roof cam".

I think it depends on the roof high the car has. If you drive a bus or sportscar, the roofcam angle is quite different.

That's roof view. The elevation of that camera in the video is too high for it to be hood view.

It's a really odd choice to have a roof view inplace of a hood view. Because whenever I can't have a cockpit view, i always switch to hood view which is the next best thing, IMO. And now I find out with these non-premium cars that I can't have either, its kind've a bummer.👎

Ok, I didn't watch the video much past the 1'16 mark. Upon further review (and two screen captures made) it appears that there is a second roof cam... but still not a hood camera. You can tell that the one at 1'50 is just set further back. The height is still the same for both cameras. People mentioned before about that first camera angle only being in replays, but I'd like to see someone recording actual gameplay (not a replay) and jumping between all the views so we can have a better idea of what is actually available.

The first view is what I'd most likely use (over bumper cam), but I'd much prefer either a hood/dashboard camera or a camera that is about at a typical driver's eye level (or the height of the rearview mirror).

Different view widths - available in start menu

I agree, the hood view is much more in line with the driver's normal eye line.

I think that Ford Focus RS has a hood view, simple to check because hood is filling from left to right on the TV, not only in the middle.

Pretty sure the Nissan Skyline R33 Premium has a hood view. Personally I think it was undecided at Polyphony what views they would/wouldn't have and forgot to change them from one to another. Either that or maybe some cars displayed graphical defects with one view over another. Whatever the reason it makes no sense.

They're all roof views. The thing is PD put the camera on the very front-edge of the roof instead of further back (as in GT4), so at first it only looks like a hood view.

Try this experiment: turn on your wipers while you drive. Can you see them going back and forth? Camera's on the roof.
