Horns...why?

I'm not saying I don't want horns, I'm just saying that from the layout and sparse nature of horn rewards, I expected them to be a bit more interesting. And anyway, don't cars bought new have stock horns on there already, without needing to use one stashed away?

Obviously someone got confused and was working on horns rather than brake upgrades, and by the time someone noticed it was too late, so they just let the guy do his horn thing.

Exactly, it's just a bit of silly fun. Lighten up, when you go online with friends and someone starts to honk, it becomes infectious. It's just a bit of stupid, harmless silly fun.

(But yes, all those who have said time and resource would have been better used elsewhere in the game, I agree, but this is the way it is, so just enjoy it.)
 
I heard some people said before, in some condition the horn is quite useful.
in case such as final state of each level in AMG special event.
Some cars are blocking on the road, (those cars are not race with you,just winding on the road, just like real situation on the Ring)
if try to flash the head light or boob the horn, the car will give road to let you past.
I didn't try to proof it, so just heard that as a rumor :)
 
I love the horn system all because of Horn 241. I am duplicating that like crazy to put on my cars. It comes stock on the Autozam. It's quite the hilarious horn :lol:

Yup. I also like... er... beatboxing, if you will, with my horns.
Also, the only time i bother with the horns is if the horns I currently have for the car is weak. I'm looking for a loud deep horn for my sleepers and exotics. I also have a puny squeaky horn for some of my classics lol.

If you want, Horn 241 is pretty loud. I still haven't found the horn (item) that is on the Miura Prototype. If i get that one (on the Miura Prototype), i could duplicate either one for you.
 
I don´t believe it to be a "humourous" like feature. Cars have a horn in real life. The addition of it is as correct as the reverse lights or whipers.

Best horn yet: The Jay Leno Tank Car. It does honk like that in real life as well.

Also, I love to honk "La Vieja" (translation: The Old Lady), which is a very offensive thing here in my country. It goes something like: honk,honk...honnnkkk!!!! (Two short honks, followed by a brief pause, and then a long honk).
 
I thought it was a pointless feature but I have thought of a way to make them useful.
We should be able to use the horn to spook drivers in front of us causing them to make mistakes (againts AI obviously)

I like horns. When I get a new car I honk it in the first race to see what the horn sounds like. If its acceptable (which it is most of the time) then I leave it, but if the horn tone is not to my liking then I change it! I love being able to customize the little things... it's part of what makes GT5 so great!👍

OK, it looks like paint and horns are separate.
I sent 5 paints to a friend, then sent 3 horns to you (yaksox).
I got success messages on all the transactions.
Can you verify that you got 3 horns from me, so I know for sure that both the paint and the horns were delivered?

Those 3 were just to test and see if it works.
Now that we know it doesn't effect paint limits and that you got them, we can start the real delivery!
I've got about 50 horns right now, so expect 5 horns a day for the next 10 days or so. :cheers:

If you have any mattes or chromes you don't use, I'm always using them.
 
Personally, I find the horns to be a nice, little feature on the car. Haven't used any of them yet, but I am thinking about it. Plus, I find the horn useful for my neighbors upstairs since they usually never shut the hell up. I just crank up my TV volume and play the most annoying horn I have in my arsenal. It hasn't happened yet, but I'm ready.

My reaction when I bought the Ford GT LM
It has a horn!!!

I don't use them cos they are not comedy horns. I too expected funny horns, I think it's cool to be able to change your horns but at the same time, a horns a horn ... unless it's a comedy horn :)
 
Don't flash your lights and honk your horn at me when we are racing online. I am a good driver and already know you are there. If you honk at me, I will probably take it as a sign of Chavness and spin you out.

The horns were added because with the removal of GT4's nitro there was a vacuum of stupid in the GT franchise, and nature abhors a vacuum. ;)
