Anyone notice that the more you drive your car the more HP your car gets?  My R34 Skyline had 998HP then after I raced the GT Championship I ended up with 1012HP!!  Then 2 races after that my car now has 1014HP!

Weird.....

That weird, it's like toal opposite for me.It seems the more a races the less and les my HP is.Although I am not a very good driver, and I have taken some nasty spills. My car that I am driving is Mustang Svt Cobra-R. It was 384HP when I brought it, then when I went to upgrade it, it said from 351-371Hp weird.

You can also increase your HP by giving your car an oil change.  It talks about all that in instruction book.

You lose HP when the oil needs to be changed. If you see a drop in HP you should go to GT Auto-Oil Change. If the color of the oil is dull green or brown, change it. You'll get anywhere from 5 HP (low-powered cars) to 50+ HP (racers and highly modded cars) back.

My Escudo is funny, it was upto 1881 HP at one time.  But now it stays at 1843, no matter how many oil changes I get for it.  Will the engines deteriorate if you run em hard or don't change the oil for a while?

Yes, the engines basically wear out.  They wanted people to become more personal with their cars, taking care of them and such.  They mentioned that after a long while, you are better off buying a new car and selling the old to get the HP back.

The initial increase of horsepower is due to the 'break-in' period.

Hmm with my Toyota GT1 I had 1122hp(I changed the oil frequently too), but after about 500 miles of racing it dropped to 1099hp.

Yep, that would be the car's engine wearing out.

I think it will drop something like 5% of the total max horsepower eventually.
