I wonder should PD back hot brakes in GT5, I like that visual effect. After long and hard braking the disk on brake should become orange or even red!!! I like that in GT4P and GT4, but I was disappointed when I saw that GT5P don't have that effect... Also sparks when car touch the asphalt. That was included in GT3 but I can remember for GT4

I think they should really model brake heating, as with tyre management, brake management is a very important part of competitive driving.

well I think that only carbon ceramic brakes tend to glow when hot not normal brakes I think it will be a great and welcomed new feature

I'm really worried about sparks and backfire. We havn't seen them in any GT5 video yet.
Not even backfire. Sparks and backfire must be in GT5.

The rotors in GT4 glowed orange quite fast under hard braking,it would usually take a reasonable amount of laps for them to get hot enough to do this in real life but in GT4 it`s from the first aplication of the brakes and also they cooled down very fast as well.

It didn`t seem all to realistic...there wasn`t any noticable brake fade! They worked the same time after time? Standard production brakes and aftermarket performance brakes will fade after a few hot laps on a track day so why not in GT4?
Hopefully this is implimented in GT5!

I hope it's in, but don't make it as unrealistic as Forza's. You stop from about 120mph and they're glowing red, and they cool back down in about 5 seconds.

nice pics, would anyone really notice that when driving round though??

Nope, but it looks cool replay and photomode.

Hopefully if it is implemented then it's realistic,as Sohvakettu mentioned, brake management is important in racing, and seeing as GT5p had ingame adjustments,it would be cool if we needed to adjust bias based on temps and ware rates.

I agree they do heat/cool way too fast. Slow it down by a factor of 5 or so and you got yourself some good visuals.

I personally love driving in GTR Evo with the F3000 and being able to see the discs start to glow while braking around Road America.

How long after brakes are released should the visual effect of brake glow last?

Also, don't forget there's air flowing on the track so it should fade even faster.
EDIT: I don't know how to embed YouTube links. Can someone fix it?
FIXED. Thanks, Gaz Vonhammer

Ahh, Conrod straight, leading into the fastest corner in Touring cars - the Chase at Mt Panorama (Bathurst). Check out the massive temps in the brakes as Mark Skaife stomps on them through the chase - slowing the car from nearly 300 km/h

forogt about photo/replay mode, would make for some pretty amazing pics :dunce:

Cool great video thanks for sharing!!!!!👍

Glowing brakes and backfire are a must in GT5

Glowing exhaust would be nice too:)

Am not satisfacted how sparks look in latest GT5 videos!! I would like to see sparks when car's touch ground or kerbs.... Sorry for my english:)

they is some proper backfire from this car about a minute in. Actually when you watch FIA GT1 all the cars backfire really loud

Pretty much any brakes will glow when driven hard.:)

I guess stock or sportive brake discs will shine in a very very slight blue...like the ones from a friend of mine who got the same car like me (fiat coupe 20v turbo)...
when this disc turns into red condition and doesn't brake then it is at least deformed...
[the carbon disc returns into original condition]

can any "pro" confirm this?

FLAVOR FLAVE! :dopey:
