Good stuff. I have 2 Torinos like that, diffrent colors though , I really love that casting. Is it a GT40? Even better! I want that charger too, seeing as I don't have one and I love old mopars
 
I mocked up another Torino a few weeks back and really dig the red line wheels.

As for the Charger, they shouldn't be difficult to find. I think the one I picked up was $1 in the card.

Ohhh both of those are gorgeous! I have a mooneyes chevelle wagon, but I don't want to strip it down since its actually really cool. Ones I legitimately like I don't tend to want to do anything to. It's kinda bad. Lol. I'm scared to attempt a Porsche cause they're my favorite car manufacturer, and I dint want to mess it up XD
 
I have one I won't take apart, I bought one the Gulf GT40 with the metallic paint. I spent $30 on it. I work with a HW collector which is how I got my hands on it. He cringed when he saw me tear open the package. The GT40 in Gulf livery is one of the best looking cars ever made IMO.
He also gave me the custom Bug with the Mooneyes paint. I put some dish wheels on it, looks sick. I'd love the STH Mooneyes van to modify but I'd hate to mess it up given how much they cost.
I have a blue RSR Porsche I'll get to sooner or later.

The exhaust tips are stock, they come on the car, they're part of the chassis. I just painted the inside black and that's it. This car is as simple as they come, it's basically a tampo delete and wheelswap with full detailing. The only custom part is the front spoiler, made with sheetmetal and painted black. That and the perforated headlamps is the most work this thing has, but it yields a great result. It needs a Boss 429 sticker on the sides and a good goat of clear to be finished.

The only problem is (besides the paint) is how should I proceed? I have to cut away parts of the roof and everything, but I am still just a bit confused. Anyone have some pointers? Thanks! :)
 
Lol, totally are the stock ones. From the picture those exhausts look like something extra, I like it.

Oh I must see where this goes. Love sick wagons. First off remove that spoiler, and I think the Beemer roofs are smooth, but don't quote me on that, might check. I'd say chop the pillars and all and cut the roof as close as possible to make it fit, the putty up any gaps.

Also,has anyone lowered one of the custom 62 Chevy hot wheels pickups. I have plans for one, but I'm undecided on rather or not to lower the back, because I was looking and I think I'll have to cut off the inner fenderwells and before I do anything I'd like to know. If anyone has done it and has pictures of how they did it, I'd be greatly appreciative to see them

I have been working on a murdered out 2010 Hyundai Genesis (don't have an original pic) for a buddy of mine who has a car exactly like it.

Still need to detail it and putty in those hood scoops.
He lent me some tinting stuff and I am planning to make the windows tinted.
Hopefully by next week I will have this custom done.
By the way this is my first custom.
 
G'day bro and welcome, nice car to pick as for tinting I would avoid all that hard work and just use a nice black sharpie, it would work better. Love your avatar btw, done a darn good job hiding there didnt he? Lmao.

Just found a vw caddy ute in sunburnt orange, I've never seen it before does anyone know if it's one of those hard to come by castings?

As for the vdub, it's sometimes hard to sometimes not. It took me awhile to find one, but now that I have it I see em fairly often bit never more than one or 2. So I mean it is kinda rarish. But still not hard to find. It's a lovely casting though. It's also as far as I can remember one of the most complete on details of mainline cars I have seen.

EDIT: Wood bed anyone? Spent all day on this, and it had a couple problems breaking when cutting to fit, but it came out pretty slick I think. If you want to know how I made it jus say so, I got a couple picture's and it was pretty easy overall.

Orange so far is the only color. Though I belive there is a sky blueish coming out later this year. I'll see if I can drag up a picture

Update: no luck, but I'm pretty sure I saw art from hot wheels for a recolor in blue on the lamely blog. Might dig through his archives

Bro you know what would have looked better for the wood deck? If you could find some wood style contact, you know the type you cover kids school books with? Would be a better and flusher fit as all you have to do is trim to fit with scissors. Still looks good though.

Honestly I have no idea what that is? I'm sure I could have made this fit better, and it's kinda a trial idea. The main thing is it works overall. I feel if it hadn't broken when I was sanding and had to be glued, the fit would have been better. Wait you don't mean that ugly sticker stuff do you? Heck no, it doesn't look real to me. Plus the grain and way I did it looks scale fit to the size of details
 
Yeah it's like a plastic sticky stuff you cover books with. You can get some that looks real as with the grain of wood and all and it would sit more flush and level around the wheel arches. But what you did still works, just another idea for you that's all, wouldve been alot easier and less time consuming than what you did,plus you would have burn markes feom where you cut it with whatever tool you used,but like I said yours still looks quite good.

Edit- you know what, what if you could use match sticks and glue them together and cut to fit, that would look scale but quite time consuming.


Editx2- here's my veedub caddy so far, only started it, plan a wheel swap and more detailing to come.

Caddy looks nice, and you don't have to detail anything XD
 
Wow, if you did it with toothpicks, mega effort dude, that makes it even more stunning. Man that would have been such a fiddly job. Knowing that makes me appreciate it even more. Well done bud.

Wood glued them together, 2 layers of glue on both sides, then let dry fully overnight, made an approximate measurement, and cut that with a box knife, snapped off 2 of the end prongs, glued em back, and sanded till it fit. Then hit it with 2 coats of polyurethane.

Also, New project. I don't remember what this thing is called, nor do I really care, cause it's not one I much like. Not enough character. Hoping to fix that. The wheels on the 370 are the wheels it started with. It was a twix van.

Did the van have the rr wheels on it? If so how you snag that beauty? I've only ever seen rr on a car once over here in Australia, neve have I seen them again. We get ripped of on hotwheels here. Not only are they about $3 we never get anything with real riders on them.

Ha yea. It is a Pop Culture series Twix ..Combat medic? I think that's the casting. It's not great, I bought it for the wheels, it was 5 bucks itself. So almost not worth it, but I'm working on it. It actually might be one of the first custom I finish for awhile, just cause I have everything I need for it. It is metal body, metal base and rr wheels. Sadly it was the only one with wheels I liked for the 370z.

Like mentioned in the above post, make new ones, you can make them out of a soft drink/soda bottle as there is usually a contour on the bottle that will work, just have to find a darkish see through bottle. Or worst case scenario, look for another casting the same just for the windows.
