I know it's a racing spec box but it doesn't exactly seem condusive to fast shifting, the sort you'd do if you were racing the car.

Anyone know which racing circuit that is? It looks nice.

Who needs a helmet, suit or gloves? It's like he's taking the LM to the shops or something...

It may not be the smoothest shifting from gear to gear, but they're some of the strongest gearboxes out there. You have to give a little bit when wanting a strong drivetrain, such as that of the F40 LM. And, in all fairness, the car isn't all that new anymore, so I actually see the shifting as more of a remarkably well designed layout. Maybe that's just me. :(

So so, no need to cry here, everybody has their right to their own opinion.

Man....that sounds sick! I mean, the gear shift just sound awful, awfully good actually. That is what race cars is all about. The race cars of today with all of the technical advancement, seems to easy for race drivers to drive it. Back then, you have to be a really good race driver to handle one of those awesome machines....

Yeah, was that just because he was useless with rev matching or what?

I know the reasons for using a dog box and why they are so strong but I was under the impression that not only were the gears themselves stronger but they could be subjected to higher/sudden loadings and be shifted fast without worrying about the gearbox biting the dust.
Of course, to utilize one to best effect would require an awful lot of practice along with the fact that even an expert driver probably wouldn't be giving someone elses incredibly rare and expensive hypercar too many berries.
