How about giving NASCAR its own forum

There's been nothing stopping members from starting individual threads within that forum, it's just that everyone seems to put the entire season into that one thread (for some reason). I don't think there's that much need for its own forum.

370 posts in almost a year isn't that fast. Besides as was said above, nobody is stopping anyone from creating new threads in the forum.

I don't think racing around an oval track deserves it's own forum.

Ohhh man I can feel the burn I'm about to get. :indiff:

As much as I support this idea, it's not gonna happen, it has been asked for before, and that is why I made the thread in the first place, I was planning on making a new thread when this season is over, for the so called "silly season", then for next year, and so on. I've always wanted a mention in the description though.

From,
Chris.

...racing around ovals in genericars that have nothing in common with the actual real-life automobiles!!

Oh, so just like any other type of racing. They do do road courses you know.

I may have lost all respect for the sport with the addition of the camry and the "car of the future" design, but i'm really getting tired of everyone making fun of it. So you think it's easy to overtake someone around an enormous oval at 200mph. Every motorsport has it's own challenges, and each of these challenges takes a certain skill.

I really don't think nascar needs it's own forum though, but a sub-forum in the Other motorsports section would probably be a good idea if it is that popular.

Until the Trailer Park gets one of dem fancy Internet connections, Neckcar on the web is doomed.

I may consider adding a Nascar forum on the site, especially now that we can expect Daytona in future Gran Turismo games. Historically, however, there has not been much enthusiasm for the series amongst the majority of our users or Gran Turismo fans.

I know that. I actually like the NASCAR road races, it's just that they're on so infrequently.

Nope. Never said i think it's "easy to overtake someone at 200 mph". You missed my point. My point is i think the cars themselves have no personality. They're all the same. The so-called "Camry" you mentioned is rear-drive for instance, yet the real-life car is front-drive. So was the Taurus when it raced. So was the Intrepid in its NASCAR days. 👎 Remove the sponsorship decals, and there's no way to tell a Camry from a Chevy from a Ford. They're so heavily regulated, they've become GeneriCars with absolutely no difference from one another. How dare they even try & compare these GeneriCars to the real-life versions. It makes absolutely no sense to me...that's why i prefer watching GT/Touring Car events.

I mean, i know NASCAR heavily regulates in the aim of safety and similarity (supposedly nobody has an advantage over anyone else) however for this reason, i find most NASCAR events extremely boring to watch.

Now....i do like watching some older Winston Cup/NASCAR events from the good old days. Matter of fact there was a "10 best NASCAR rivalries" show on Speed last week and i watched the entire thing. The whole time i'm going "there's a Pontiac!" "there's Petty's Dodge!" etc. because you can tell the difference between such cars...they actually resemble the real-life versions. 💡

See where i'm coming from?
