Mate, most of the women I've known have been pretty ordinary drivers.
My partner has an endearing habit when driving down country roads of sailing into tightening bends and giving the brakes a kick when she realises she's gone in a bit hard.
It's not a problem in the big blue Super Sube, as the AWD and the variable torque split cope pretty well, but in the ol' Vectra on a changing camber corner it used to get pretty interesting. Any who's done reasonably serious driver training knows that sort of stuff is a big No-No in FWD.
It's that old spacial perception thing, I think. She's pretty good at sticking up for herself in Sydney traffic - one of the things I admire about her is she doesn't take crap - especially from that 19 yo with his cap backwards in the riced up Civic!
She loves AWD now, so we've bought our last 2WD car. I explained to her why the Vectra always seemed unsettled to her - she just shrugged her shoulders and said 'oh well'.
I must get her on to a Advanced Driver Training course - only been talking about it for four years!
Always Drive the speed limit no more no less.
Don't run stop signs
Don't swear
Don't go 30 through a parking lot
Always buy the instructor a pop if you stop at a Fast food place.
Hmm Hydroplanning is fun on an oprn road with no cars. My friend who has a WRX does it all the time. He'll see a hugh puddle then get the car up to 80 and hit it. He see how long he can control it. Its quite fun
