How do I share car with friends in online races ?

Hi,

I was wondering how to allow my friends to use some of my cars in online races. In my garage, when I press triangle on a car, there is a "share with friends online" option, when I activate it these cars appear in the "online" tab of the garage.
But when I am in my lounge with my friends, they can't see these cars and therefore can't use it.
Can someone explain me how can everybody in my friends race with one of my car ?

Basically that command is a tad misleading. It basically just allows you to show a few cars on your profilepage, so that your friends can view them. It carries no practical functionality whatsoever. Yet.
 
I can confirm what Hisae states:

You actually even can see the "online" cars of you friends on the internet (in profile) and link them to other sites. But we did not find yet how to use the car of other people.
 
I might as well ask a question in this thread as well since it's very related to the original question:

We do know that you can't share your cars via the "share online" option.
However, should'nt it be possible to work around that some way with the "choose from garage" option when setting up an event?
 
So the "share with friends online" option for cars don't allow you and your friends to use them online, in addition you can't use them in GT life anymore, just to show your cars to your friends in your profile ?
What a (another) crappy option ! :crazy:
Seriously, some guys in PD are really on their own planet, some parts of this game are a joke...:dunce:
 
i was about to make a new thread with this question but I found this

i had my ps3 at my buds last night and we had both ours going so i tried too do this share thing thinking we could shrare care, if not for singleplayer but for online at least.
i must of spent at least an hour trying different things trying to figure it out how to find themm once you share

i cant believe this is all that it is for that is so ****ing stupid

of coarse it would have made much more sense to be able to share and drive a car of a friend

but no they followed the rest of the game with continuing lack of common sense

jesus christ i love this game but some of the little things are making me so disapponted, espically after waiting 5 years

YET! I hope that's true.

That's funny. I'm going to fill my share page with Toyota VITZ's for all my friends to enjoy!
 
The way we all assume it should work is undoubtably the way it was meant to work, but it's yet ANOTHER thing that somehow PD didn't have time to make work in the last 5 years.
 
Bringing this back from the dead because I found it via a Google search and others might as well.

That being said, for tgose who are curious about the current gt5, you actually can use shared cars. When you see a friend's car displayed on his/her profile, simply select it and select borrow on the following screen. You cannot borrow promo/dlc cars. You can modify friend's cars and use them in gt mode races though. A very useful feature!
 
You car share a car. Your friends can use it for seasonals or A-spec. But not in a lobby online.👍

👍 This. I'm not sure why this thread was resurrected but I guess it's been answered once and for all now.
