As a collective, they're narrow minded and self-serving. Parisians are, pretty much without exception, objectionable. However, having spent a week in Burgundy, where I liked every French person I met and spoke to, I would have to say that as individuals, the non-Parisians are generally very nice.

i feel the same way, in general i dislike the french,
but i couldnt take it out on one person as not all of them are as we see them, but they are overall, pretty anoying.
maybe burning in hell is a little bit extreme.

I have nothing against french people, just how their government thinks it can have it both ways. I can understand why many French are dis-tasteful of the US; the US got a really good bargain in the Luisiana Purchase, the US didn't really aid France during WW1 or WW2 until the US was actually attacked, or knew of a future attack, and now the US thinks it can smush them(not saying it COULDN'T....) I'm indiferent. Until I actually go to France, visit a vast part of it, and really get to know people that live in France, I can't say I'm one side or the other, hell, I heard that most of the French that have angst againt the US live in Paris(Not saying that all Paris citizens have angst against the US) , and that most French people outside Paris think of the US quite highly.
