soptomA game can get too realistic, it has to appeal to the guy who wants to adjust fuel/air mixtures on the fly, but it must also appeal to the 10 year old kid who wants to barge his way around a track any way he can. You'd end up with a 10 page options list.
No offense, but I see two problems with that.
A. Since when "must" the GT series appeal to 10-year-olds...?
B. Since when does a "Quick Race" button, a "Car Setup" button, and a "Realism" slider take up 10 pages...? And before you laugh at the idea of a realism slider, Mercedes Benz World Racing had one, and it worked rather well. Of course, even set to full "simulation," MBWR isn't the most realistic game out there, but then again, neither is GT...
