No, they're not, because chicken eggs are not fertilized. You're only eating the female's contribution to the process, not an actual, underdeveloped chicken.

I saw this show on TV once where some lady ate her placenta. That was disgusting. She had an accent, too, sounds like she was from over in Europe somewhere.

On the subject of placentas, I saw an "extreme cuisine' show where some lady cooked her placenta into a meal and invited her friends and family over for dinner, and didn't tell them until after. I think she lived in California, as if that wasn't a no-brainer.
