how do you paint your cars?

Am I missing something obvious but I don't see how you paint the cars in this game? I leveld up to level 12 where I can apply body kits, but I still don't see anywhere you cant paint your cars..

I suspect you can at some point maybe, there's hits about colors of paint in the hints and stuff that shows while loading... ? maybe later in game ? certain cars u can't?
