How do you race AI

For me, it depends...
If it's a long race that I don't want to re-do and the AI is really competitive, I might push the AI out of the way to ensure a win. Or if I am racing to earn money for a car that showed up in the UCD, I might drive dirty if there's a chance I won't win and get max credits.
If I have plenty of money and I am doing a race I will enjoy repeating, there's not much to lose so I'll keep it clean and try to win fair & square. If I don't win, I'll try again cleanly and a little more aggressive or smarter. Oh, and If I am grinding credits in a ridiculously overpowered car, I will definitely avoid contact because it just doesn't seem right to unnecessarily brutalize far lesser cars when I should be able to easily win with my monster.

It depends on the race/situation for me.

Your post pretty much nailed it - depends on what I'm trying to accomplish. Clean (not triggering parking) most of the time when racing for the enjoyment/practice, clean but pushy when I have a race/reward to attain (AI weaknesses - too bad so sad). And I'll defend my car and swap paint if the AI brake inappropriately or swerve into me. The only time I drive really dirty is right before I hit restart ("never happened, I tell you" :)

One exception was when I was grinding the 4-hour Nurburgring (this was before I started doing Seasonals or reached Level 40) - I was a monstrous jerk to the AI, doing things like forcing them to miss pit entry so I could watch them do another lap on ruined tires and slide all over the place... or making everyone queue up by blocking the pit on their in-lap.

I also love doing what montez34 and Pit Crew mentioned about bunching up the grid once I am past the lead car (or punting a slow lead car to let faster AI cars through). If it's the Minolta I'll do some faux dicing until I decide to get on with winning the race.

If i need money fast, they're my rolling guard rail in turns..If i feel like being realistic, i race them fair.

Depends on what car I am in. If it's a low powered car than it's clean. It's more challenging. If it's a high power race, I AM THE GOD OF HELL FIRE!!

Note to admins: I could not figure out how to add the poll to the other thread with this title. Feel free to delete the other one.

Just curious to see who's staying off the AI idiots and who doesn't care.

I try to be as clean as possible and not "cheat" but damn these pinheads need to learn to drive (like we all didn't already know that) sometimes there is just nothing you can do to keep these a-holes from stopping right in front of you, pushing you offline, and swerving side to side like delirious crack addicts.

So what's your vote? AI clean or Dirty?

I'll race them as clean as I can. It's good experience trying to avoid them & helps me to race better with my online friends. We try to race each other clean.

Depends on my mood. Since I usually don't use A-Spec anymore, the times I do it are for grinding. If I'm in a hurry, I'll drive as aggressively as possible. If I'm feeling bored, I'll try racing clean around them. It varies.

After getting punted hard in the early laps of the Nordschleife by the number 10 man as I passed him, I recovered and set about ruining his race. Petty but I was annoyed! What I learned was there is no point in simply barging them off as they recover faster than I can! BUT a firm pass that slows them and allows you to continue is sometimes needed in order to win the Challenges where you start 12/12.

On ovals, every last one of them SoB's deserves to die sucking face with a wall!!! There is no excise for braking on a turn meant to be taken at 200+ mph. Except for poor programming. Which is inexcusable.

Daytona +1

depends on the race. in pointless grinding races that I just want to get done its dirty all the way, But if theres a good match of opponents and some nice special race I will race clean for better experience and to enjoy the race. (rare with AI nowadays :indiff:)

Online I prefer clean - though dirty rooms with Stormer vs Elise type of combos are sometimes hilarious. Like watching movies - sometimes a stupid bad quality comedy is just what you need.. :)

Always clean - After many miles doing open wheel racing the last thing you try and do is to interlock wheels or threaten a wheel vs wheel impact.

GT5 AI may well be clunky, but you can rise above that and show your class with some well honed passing skills. Banging it up the inside, ripping off your wing mirrors and removing your doorhandles is so unprofessional.

Depends. For those stinkin' seasonals with the rabbit out front, I tend to lean on the AI cars. If it isn't a chase down the leader race, then I will race clean.

I always try to race clean. I find it much more fun than racing dirty.
