How does GTPlanet feel about Hot Wheels?

Hot Wheels brand toy cars where a big part of my childhood.. I stopped "collecting" them when I was about 10.. Who knows, maybe when I get older, In my 30s I'll get into Hot Wheels again just like other people do. I don't know.

So, I ask GTP, How did you feel/felt for Hot Wheels?​
 
I'm sorta the same like you, when I was younger thats all I'd used to get for toys. I'd take them all out and race them around the rug. I can't see myself getting back into them though.
 
I used to love Hot Wheels back when I was little. But over time diecast and plastic models kinda took over lol
 
Hotwheels used to be my life. I took them to school. That was all my friends and I would play with. I think I made roads to drive them around on out of tracks and blocks until probably being a Freshman or Sophomore in High School. I still pull them out every so often and make a racetrack to drive them around. I also made airplanes and cars out of Legos until about this time too.

So if any of you were wondering why this 19-year-old doesn't act grown up, it's, well, because I haven't. I'm still very much a little kid.

But I did collect long enough to get some really cool ones like the Bugatti, an Enzo, an S7 and a few others that I won't remember until I pull the collection back out. I probably need to hit up the stores again to see what they have.
 
Man, nowadays, my dad is still a big collector. He has thousands of the little buggers. He always is looking for ones he doesnt have. As a younger child, I loved 'em, I too, would race them all around the track and rug. Today, I just get the ones that look cool :p
 
I'm really considering starting up collecting them again. The only problem I have with that is it seems that Mattel has drifted from making real cars, so it is harder to find one worth buying.
 
Thats what I don't like about them either, all they make now are crazy looking concepts.
 
So I just looked through their website (:odd:) and it seems like they do have a few halfway decent real ones. Now I just need to find them in the stores. But I agree. The majority are sadly just strange concepts or weirdly modded real cars.
 
Yea, you're gonna have a slim selection of real cars you go to Wal-Mart or something. Unless of course you want an Impala on Dubs+.
 
I'll probably be at Toys R Us looking for them, but I think Matchbox and Johnny Lightning will be better bets for real cars.

I definitly feel a huge urge to go out and buy like 40 of the little guys now though.:dopey:
 
I stop collecting them when i reached high school. I almost like Hot-Wheels as much as my PS1 back then. Well now i stop collecting toys and get "real toys" ;)
 
I made a thread about my hotwheels cars in the GT2 section a while back. There's about 54 pictures and descriptions of what they were used for.

I loved them so much :D

Try looking for the Ferrari 60th Anniversary boxes. Some are weird paintjobs, but you might be able to find some normal cars.
 
I prefered Matchbox cars, but I only had a few. Lego and Thomas the Tank Engine were my main toy intrest when I was younger.
 
I collected Hot Wheels for years with my grandpa, we had all the series, in the package from 1995 till bout 2006 when we stopped doing it. We even have most of the Treasure Hunt cars as well. They are all packed away though and one day I'll probably sell them.

I still buy them now from time to time if I see a cool one and I'll play with them when my little cousins are around and what not. The other day I found a cool Datsun 240Z that I just had to buy and a slammed Nissan Titan.
 
I was really big into Hot Wheels up until Middle-School I think, and then its dropped off quite a bit since then. I still buy them on occasion, particularly when I find cars that I really like. I bought one of the first edition Ferrari Enzos that Matel had offered, and I nearly bought a Batman pack the other day just to get the "Tumbler" from Batman Begins.

...Coming from a guy who still buys Star Wars action figures and various Lego kits from time-to-time, this isn't much of a surprise...
 
Like most of you guys, I don't collect the anymore but I do have 1:18 Scale models. I have a Ferrari F50, Porsche 911 Cabriolet, Nissan 350Z S-Tune(or Z Tune.. I dont remember.), Hummer H2, 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible, 1969 Camaro, and I have a few 1:64 scales too. Chrysler ME412, BMW Z4.​

Dude, what's the deal with the miniature typeface?

I used to love my Hot Wheels and Johnny Lightning cars.
Mathchbox--not as much but still pretty cool.

Heck, I've been a "car junkie" since I was 3!!
My first car was a 1964 Mustang Pedal car.

That's all well and good...
But it's really hard to see.
Both of the monitors I use are more than an arm's length away, and the tiny print is hard to read.
Especially, if it's more than a couple of lines.👍

My YOUNGEST kid, is about the median age of most GTPers.
I'm not the OLDEST member, but I imagine that I'm in the top 20 Old Guys here.

Plus, I grew up in an era where the "fine print" held all the details that were designed to do you in...:sly:
 
I have one or two 1/64ths, but I rarely buy them. I did find a Mini that just had to be mine though. Most of mine are 1:18ths.

Well, I don't know what I can do, except to change the size. But I like it like this.. If you don't want to read it, fine. Skip my post or something.

And in your other post, I too think that good grammar is very important. I feel dumb when I misspell a word. :O​
