Give it as a round trip figure and how long it takes to complete.

For it is 30km a day = 18.6 miles. It takes about 25 mins in the morning and 35 mins in the evening.

My round trip is usually about 45 miles and it's about 30 minutes one way. Of course, that's all dependent on traffic.

MY previous job was 37 miles one way, and it usually took an hour. Gotta love Boston Commuter traffic.

Almost a mile.
The banquet hall at which I work is accessible from here using nothing but residential streets, so there are lots of ways to get there. None long.

About 5 kms either way, about 8-10 minutes during the afternoon, and at night.....considerably less ;)

18 miles. 30 min drive each way (as long as the traffic is not too bad).

68 miles round trip.
35 minutes in the morning (5:45 AM :irked: )
45 minutes in the evening when all the fools are out.

About 20 miles round trip, and it takes about 20 minutes each way, depending on if college is in session or not. It can take 30+ minutes when the streets near home are crowded with hordes of socializing 18-20 year olds.

Does school count as work? I don't have a job yet
I take the bus or the train to and from school depending on the time of day so I don't know how many km or miles that would be.
On train, it's 10 minutes by bus or car to the train station, 30 minutes to downtown toronto and a 30 minute walk or a 5 minute subway ride from there. Same thing for the way back.

By bus, it's 10 minutes to the train station, 1 hour to get to downtown toronto, and the same 30 minute walk or a 5 minute subway ride.

On some days, I have to go through THREE different transit companies and pay fares 3 different times :irked:. Luckily, I only pay 50 cents on Mississauga transit because I take the GO transit to get to toronto. I almost never use the Toronto transit so that's only on days when I'm in a hurry.

6 miles each way. About 45 minutes each way, depending on whether the schools are in.

That's pathetic. You could bicycle that more quickly.

Indeed.

I have considered cycling on many occasions, but there are no facilities here, and I don't think it sets the day off correctly to arrive in a sweaty heap.

The practicality is worsened by the fact that Edinburgh is entirely constituent of hills. My house is probably 500 feet further above sea level than my work. Seriously.

I usually walk the last three bus stops, because I can walk faster than the bus can drive through that sector of the journey. And it's good for me to walk.

Currently, as Suz and I are on "hospital watch", I drive 12 miles to the hospital, park the car, then get a 6 mile, 40 minute bus ride into town. It's joyous, it really is.

I can't wait to get Emma home.

5.3 miles @ 20 minutes. Sometimes traffic's worse, though - I work just a couple of blocks from Times Square and live just a couple of blocks from the World Trade Center/Wall St/City Hall/Fulton Fish Market. But on days like today, when I don't leave for the office until 1pm, it's not so hard to get into work in 13 or 14 minutes.

1.9 miles each way.

Some days I drive home on break, since it's less than 8 minutes each way at worst. Thus, a maximum of 7.6 miles, unless I have to hunt for a parking spot.

By the way, my insurance company really haggled with me over the exact route I take to work.

I told them, "Oh, a mile-and-a-half, maybe 2 miles".
They said, "Do you mean 2 miles or 1.5? That means something."
Me: "You're kidding, right? I mean, I've never measured exactly."
Them: "What do you think?"
Me: "Two miles."
Them: "That's better."

Now that's the definition of anal-retentive. I thought I was bad.

I would've said 1.5 miles...cheaper if you drive less.

Anyway, my commute is 4.3 miles, it's about 15 minutes but about 5 minutes of that is walking from my apartment to my car and walking from my car to my desk

3.8 miles each way. Takes 12 minutes, seemingly no matter what I do...

About 20 miles one way, and about 40 minutes depending on traffic conditions. In Phoenix the highways are not much better than surface streets, and in some cases they are slower.

28 miles roundtrip to work.
It was 92 miles roundtrip to school when I used to go. Fun.

yeah, its great not having a jorb

Then why on earth did you reply to the thread?

I do about 48 miles forth and back, but I never calculated how long it actually takes.

9.8 miles one way. It's all highway and takes me about 10-15 minutes.
During the winter, I just pray that the road doesn't close. Usually takes about 20 minutes in winter time with icy/snowy conditions.
