How long do you expect new content to be added to GT5

I have been wondering about this for awhile.

When will PD stop working on GT5, Will PD even tell us when they have added the last update.

This is the longest period of time between DLC's and it's either because they are working on something big or they have slowed down and focused on other things.

I would like too see the game continue getting new content untill GT6 but we all know 2019 is a long time from now.
 
Nobody knows for sure the answer to this question except PD themselves.
 
The other guys right, nobody knows. I have a strong feeling that DLC's were pushed back a bit due to GT Academy starting. They probably focused on that a little more seeing its a huge event.
 
i think PD should start focusing gran turismo and not all on GT academy, they could find a company to help them run it, i think we need new DLC soon because im tired of waiting i have been extremely patient but i seriously doubt PD is going to stop working on GT5 anytime soon they love what they do too much
 
I think it's pretty clear that PD has already stopped working on GT5. They've been phoning it in for weeks now already. My expectations are very low at this point in time.

Game will be 18 months old after GT Academy is done, I think they're finished.

It would be a shame if they stopped. I mean what else are they possible going to do with their time.

Being able to add new content to games that aren't annual releases is the only way they can keep getting pay checks. You expect them to have a small team that continues to make DLC's untill they are ready to release the next project.
 
Well GT Academy will probably bring some new free content, couple of cars (maybe some unique tunes) and a couple of challenge. Even if you dont stand a chance (like me) you can still participate and have fun. So technically that's new content.

Erm, are you aware of Polyphony Digital and what they do? Sure this is the first game they've been able to add to with DLC but they took a year to start doing that even, they're not going to change their ways. They'll stop working on GT5 and start on the next game and you won't see anything until it's released or (I really hope not) do something else nobody else does, release a prologue.

Everyone can participate by downloading free GT Academy 2012 application from the PSStore. But only residents of countries where Nissan decided to give a green light to commence the Academy can actually compete once the virtual-phase ends.

The way it is right now GT6 won't be coming out for 15 years.

The PS1 has 2 titles the ps2 has 2 titles and think about how long it took them to make 1 Granturismo on the PS3 NOW they are going to be making the next GT title on the next gen console and who knows how long it will take for the PS4 to even come out.

GT5 was released when the PS3 was already on it's last legs can you imagine how long it will take for them to create another game with next gen tech.

I don't think many people understand. You can't work on a game if the technology doesn't exist yet. When the PS4 finally comes out THEN they will be able to START working on GT6 and considering how long it took them to release an unfinished GT5 on a 7+ year old PS3 it's going to be decades before they finish the next installment of the game.

I laugh when people post threads about what they want in GT6 because by the time this game comes out we will be flying around on hybrid donkeys.

The satire of this post, it has me laughing for sure. I'm a massive critic of PD and GT as some of the main posters that have posted here. Yet not even I believe it will take 15 years. I do agree with some of what you say though.

Your math is off as well or the way you wrote it up make it seem strange. GT was released four years after the launch of the PS3 with a year of work already put into it before the system was released, hence the five year build a lot of us mention to this day. So if the tech is there or not the ability to build a games core is viable. If devs had to wait then why would PC devs project their games on unreleased operating systems? Anyways off to bed

So wait, you think developers can't start work on a game until the console comes out? How do launch games work then?
 
I think PDI pays attention to the sales figures for DLC. When the numbers fall off or they don't make enough money they will stop producing DLC for this game.

PDI does much more than just video games.

If the tech doesn't exist yet how are you going to work on a game for it. I don't know why your having trouble understanding that.

Untill they have completed the PS4 there will be no games in production for it regardless of when it's going to be released.

When it is finally finished Playstation will contact the gaming companies and give them the software to work around but untill that time noone is going to be able to work on PS4 games.

Anything else?

If he is, he is badly misinformed. Little does he know, the technology, for the most part, is already there. Its just being refined or a little further developed. Even tho I'm a fan of the PS3, I have an uncle that recently retired from Microsoft so I know how things like that work.
 
I think people shouldn't really get their hopes up at this point. GT-5 has been out for some time now. We've had countless patch updates (some adding content, and others fixing bugs).

Since the launch of GT-5, I have to say that PD has (IMO) provided WAY more in patch updates than many other titles. They've supported this title a great deal. Also.., keep in mind that PD is on new ground here in some areas too with GT-5.

We're seeing DLC (although limited).., we're at least now seeing it for the GT series. Plus PD took a more indepth shot at online game play (of course it too has it's issues).., and with this new area for them.., the "learn as you go" approach really is sitting on their backs.

I think one problem is that we've had only ONE GT titles on the PS-3 (outside of prologue, which was nothing more than an extended demo). The PS3's getting close to being replaced.., and with only one title.., the community is feeling a little drab (which is understandable).

I think Sony really screwed up big time by not having GT-5 as a launch title for the PS3. There should have been at least (2) GT titles in that time IMO. It's competitor knocked out 3 titles on one system (at nearly a 2 year mark for each).., and are even set to release a spin off version too (again to be on the same system).

Who knows..., we may be seeing something down the line. When Forza-4 was released.., PD launched a HUGE update to the title. Forza Horizon is set to release in the near future. Perhaps PD has something planned for that as well. (keeping my fingers crossed)

I have only two words for you. Developer Kit. Dev kit for short. Look it up.
 
I would be willing to pay $25 dollars for DLC that included all or most of the older tracks. I don't even need any other cars to keep the GT5 experience fun. Just give me those other tracks.
 
I wish Forza was cross platform. GT5 has the physics and too some extent graphics but on a pure enjoyment level i believe Forza blows it out of the water. But that's for another time.
 
I'd pay a bundle to get the older GT tracks as well if they would add new events to include them or at least incorporate them pretty heavily in new seasonal events.

Doesn't that just seem like lost revenue for PD and Sony. It doesn't seem that PD is listening, but would Sony perk up if they saw a petition that said thousands of people were willing to spend almost half as much as the original cost of the game to have a complete track pack of most or all previous tracks?

That's crazy talk. I wouldn't pay anything for them to recycle old tracks maybe if they were making brand new ones that were better.
