To complete a 24 hr enduro...will PD give me a new ps3 if mine breaks or they gonna introduce the in race save feature any time soon I don't plan on leaving my ps3 on for 12-24 days for one race nevermind 2 that's ridiculous.

My friend hasn't turned off his ps3 in over 6 months. Just make sure it is in a well ventilated area and you'll be fine. Putting a desk fan on it won't hurt either 👍

ps. 12 - 24 DAYS?!?

Wow. I think the longest I've left my PS3 on for was just under a week. Once it starts to make funny noises I usually give it a night rest. Though lately, I've been trying to give it a night rest before it starts making funny noises.

What kind of comparison is that? That's terrible!

about 10 hours on christmas hahah

I've left my 120gb slim on for a couple of days with no problem.I wouldnt recommend anything over a week though, bad things might start to happen.

The longest: 2 months. Except for moving it between my tv and my sons' it's on continuously.

Haha Lol i didnt mean it as how it sounded, i meant it as like my ps2 was by most prized posession.. :D

The longest my PS3 has been on was only 5 days. As long as it's well ventilated it's fine. It is a computer after all.

Never thought to relate the too but your actually right

Yes PD has been known to give away free PS3s to those who lost theirs doing endurance races. I suggest running it till it dies to get a new one ;)

How do your electricity bills look guys? The most I left my PS3 on was for 9 hours doing the 9 hour B spec endurance race on Tsukuba. It can't be healthy for your systems to just leave them running forever..

I purchased a Laptop cooling pad, it cost £13, not a lot really, its basically the same width and depth as a laptop but only about a centimeter thick, it has 2 fans side by side that blow upwards, simply plug it into the a spare USB port and your station will stay cool. P.S. if you have a PS3 slim go get a USB 2.0 4 port hub as well.

Hope this may help

I leave mine on 3-4 days on. Then 1 day off. I have been doing this since March. I do not notice any significant difference in my electric bill from previous months. I also point a table fan on it.

PS3 can run 24-7 so long as it's properly ventilated and free of dust: http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-PS3 (scroll to the middle of the page)

I didn't know this I just don't want to get the yellow light godforbid I leave my xbox on the whole day the thing doesn't work the next...so I guess I'll have no problems leaving it on for the 2 24 hr enduros

The longest time i ever did is about two weeks maybe a little bit more .

because of that >>>

YLoD occurs from power cycling. Not from leaving it on, unless you don't have proper ventilation.

Also, this.

The longest run of my PS3 is 30 hours(A day and a quarter) or so, just because my dad accidentally left it on after he finished playing GT5 to fall asleep - and that day was an "all-gaming" day on which I continuously had it work overtime all day. (Around 20 hours while I was awaken, + additional 8~10 hours after I went to sleep, realizing that my PS3 was still in its operation in the morning)

Anyway, no matter hadn't I or he forgotten to switch it off, I had overused mine for more than half a day consecutively.

Almost 6 hours... I was doing the Nurb 4Hr Endurance... I restarted it 3 times before saying... "screw it, I'll do it with an X2010" :)

Four days for resident evil 4 and then I managed a save lol

Almost 24 hours, not completly. Will change as soon as i am gonna finish all the endurance's.

Hmm... I think mine was on for 10-12 days when I did the La Sarthe 24h race.

My computer has been on for months tho, unless u count a 1h powercut last week :P

They use playstation 3's as Linux servers so i figure those will run 24/7 for months.

That little old machine does not use enough electricity to even think about...my
ps3 and my ps2 and HD TV and computer systems stay up 24/7, that way when I get up during the nite it is ready for me!:sly:

The longest I've had was 27 hours + an extra few minutes. Through the Nurb 24h in B-Spec. Did the whole race and managed to fall asleep until 3 hours after the race. Still worked perfectly fine, mind you... :D
