Driving 400+ miles a week and eating meat at every meal FTW! I would like to see the math, because I currently don't understand how I have a 4.4 acre shelter rating when two of us live on a half acre plot.CATEGORY ACRES
FOOD 6.9
MOBILITY 4.9
SHELTER 4.4
GOODS/SERVICES 6.4
TOTAL FOOTPRINT 23
IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 5.1 PLANETS.
Um, they made it up. Everything I hear about these global footprint things is that it is all just crap to get money. I've even heard serious, reputable environmental groups say that. I mean, it isn't a ripoff if you donate, because they do go plant trees or fund research or something with the money but the figures are all bull.2.1, but I'd love to know where they get their info on how much "x" costs in "global acres".
In case no one else gets the actual point:I got the point, I just think it's wrong.
Edit: The point is "Our planet cannot sustain your standard of living". How can that be true when we constantly redefine what our planet can sustain?
Food 1.2
Mobility 0.1
Shelter 0.6
Goods/services 0.6
Total Footprint 2.5
In Comparison, The Average Ecological Footprint In Your Country Is 4.8 Global Hectares Per Person.
Worldwide, There Exist 1.8 Biologically Productive Global Hectares Per Person.
If Everyone Lived Like You, We Would Need 1.4 Planets.
An ethiopian teenager that grows all their own food (vegan), lives in the smallest possible green-design house with 7 others, and never travels other
than on foot/bicycle/animal cart has a total footprint of just 0.3 hectares. Thats 0.2 for food, and 0.1 for shelter. 0 for mobility, goods and services. The average for that country is 0.8 hectares, yet there is still a need for 1.0 planets.
If that doesn't show that the results are skewed, then somebody show me a result that could help bring the average score down to the number of planets we actually live on.
That's pretty much what I actually said to some hippies who tried to hand me a pamphlet on being a vegan.Could someone just tell them that I like to eat and animals are tasty and to leave me alone?
Bathing hurts Mother Earth, as does flushing the toilet. So, while my home and my armpits may smell worse than a whale's vagina, I am better than you.FoolKillerMy favorite is reducing your footprint by sweating instead of using air conditioning. I think I figured out why some eco-extremists are smelly and dirty.
2.1 here too.
Anyone know where we can get another Earth from?

Yeah, you should drive more.***Like most of you, I felt pretty good about my living habbits, I guess I was wrong according to the quiz.
