46 for me iirc. Funny how the spectrum is either 0-39 or 80. Few people seem to have enough dedication to get more than a handful who also possess enough control over obsessive tendencies to HAVE to go for all 80. I found the driving missions much more fun than trying to eke out golds in Super and the International tests so just took gold where it came easily and silver otherwise. I did make sure to Gold out B and A at least...

I think you can pretty much ignore the poll results. Since I can't change my answer or even add my current number of golds (80). That poll is the number of golds that the readers had AT THE TIME THAT THEY STARTED READING THIS THREAD. Hardly very informative.

Zeratul, think of the margin: 0.144 out of nearly a minute is only 0.2%. Surely you can drive 0.2% faster... What helped for me was to anticipate the corners far in advance, and don't head into the tricky few with too much speed. It's general advice, but what do you expect?
Yeah, funny how 0.2% can be so close, and yet so far. As I said, that's the best I've managed, with many, many offs and several slower times. I can consistently manage a 53.8/53.9, but that elusive 0.2% is getting me down :grumpy:

I also now find out that the NTSC boys have it easy! A 54.150 for gold! I'd have golded that two dozen times by now :)

NTSC Easy? Have you done Mission 34 yet? Try a 12s harder version in NTSC than PAL, then tell us we have it easy!!!!

I found the last corner before the finish line on that licence test was where the critical 1/10ths to beat gold time was found, make sure you're smooth, but wide through there, there's a surprising amount of rumble strip to make use of. Watch the demo on in-car view if you can and see how wide he gets. I was surprised that you could get that far off without getting failed.

Hmm...okay, I didn't know about that one. Why did PD change the gold times between NTSC and PAL? Is PAL supposed to be more "balanced" in terms of difficulty of these tests and missions? Seems strange to me.
