I don't know how they work out A-spec points. The most I got was when I was regularly in the 130s whilst winning the FF series Beginner in a 180 hp stock Pontiac. It was the car you win from the license test (I can't remember which, I got all 80 golds). Those races weren't easy, but I won them all. In one (it was Twin ring Motegi or something) of them I had to do a crazy t-bone ram on the lead car (Peugot something or other) at the last corner, his car was just too good for me to beat fairly without at least a few retries. Never say never, but in fact, I think it was maybe even impossible!

I rammed him so far into the gravel trap that he came 4th, lol, the little ********. I make no apologies for being nasty to computer cars. I won. of course

IA-16 is one of the tougher tests. It's because there are no driver aids, or at least no traction control. You just have to imagine there are eggshells under your throttle pedal and you aren't allowed to break them. 3rd gear won't do you much good. You just have to be in 2nd gear and press the throttle very gently.

I've currently got 57 Gold, 0 Silver and 0 Bronze.
I've just done IA-9. I've been going through them one by one and won't stop until I've got them all.

I played the Japanese version, and I just went to pass the tests quickly, mostly bronze and then I got stuck into the racing and got over 25% complete.

Since the Euro version came out, I've been only going for License Golds. When I've got them all, I intend to do all Missions and then get started on the actual racing! And whenever I get to that, I'll be going through the races slowly, trying to get high A-Spec points all the way.

I've got the replay/ghosts saved for all my licenses so far (all gold).
I might see about putting them up (xport) on a website or something, perhaps someone would find a Gold Ghost useful?

I don't know how they work out A-spec points.

I believe that the A-Spec points are calculated by comparing your Power:Weight ratio to the Average of all your competitors Power:Weight ratios.
Tyres also have an effect, but the likes of Brakes and Suspension don't - they do nothing to your Power:Weight!

Im not an great driver, but is not that hard to get a few golds on licence B, A and IB.. im at IA and currently i have 6 silvers on IA and no golds IA is hard, and when i reach S licence I not sure if i could keep up with 0 bronze..

Coffee break #3 & #5 is the hardest in my opinion. I got all the test gold including the 5 coffee breaks. I still have to do mission hall 34. Best is third. Hate the stupid 203 second wait. They should have made other cars to start at different point on the track instead making the players wait every time. I guess that must be some kind of joke of a wait since we have been waiting for GT 4 for like 1.5 yrs!

lol i hated coffee breaks like nothing else on GT4.....................................thats except removing the 'load game' option.

Currently got 65 Gold and 15 Silver. But I seriously doubt I'm good enough to get all 80. Some of them seem almost impossible to me. I'm more proud of passing mission 34 than I am of any of my golds.

If you've gotten 65 already, and have passed 34, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to pick up the last 15.

I got one gold. Not really into golding everything right now. I just wanted to get the damn licences. I'm at 75% now and when I hit 100 I might try all golds. Or then I just don't bother. We'll see...

All Gold through IA, and 3 in S so far, the rest Silver, no bronze. That last turn of IA-16 (Arnage) is the hardest turn in all the tests, I think. But the slaloms took me the longest to get Gold. I'm using the DS2.

No other running done. 0% complete, 0/0 races, no prize money. I'm spending the money I have on oil changes for the license prize cars. I took the 100K from GT3 when I started.

Up til Sat I had 5 silvers and the rest all bronze. Then I bought the DFP. Now on about 30 golds. I tried to go out and race immediately after I got home and I sucked with the wheel. I needed the license tests to teach me to drive again. Working very well so far, I am improving quickly.

Gran Turismo 4's License Tests are easy to pass, difficult to master. Something within me wanted to focus on Silver results. And as of 12:01 AM (CDT) 4/21/05, my Gold-Silver-Bronze count is 4-66-9. I think I used to be 2-11-69, but as I had a chance to redo certain tests so I can make the most of my record, I had a flurry of silvers with great effort. It can be devilishly tough to reach gold. I have no Driving Force Pro, so my Dualshock 2 is my weapon of choice. Even then, it can be tough to get the most out of my car. The majority of my Golds are in the B-License tests, but then I have that one Gold in the IA test with the 2003 Mitsubishi Pajero Rally Raid Car at Swiss Alps. Still, one stat has eluded me for years- sweeping Gold for an entire License Test. Gran Turismo 1, GT2, GT3, and even GT4... still absolutely NO GOLD SWEEP. Does that mean I'm a bad racer? No, I consider myself more old-fashioned. You're not going to see me sport around stats about me acquiring all Golds, as if I have the acumen of Mario Andretti, Sir Jackie Stewart, or Peter Brock, or anybody like that in a GT game.

And thats the way it's likely to stay since no much how I practise thats the best I that I can do at present. Maybe when I've finished the game and have more expreriance I will get a few more silvers but thats the limit of my abilities it seems.

Update: I've been practising for days till my thumbs are raw and now have 16 Gold!

I've got 41 golds, 39 silver. I'm trying to get Gold on each test now, now that I have got 100% completion. National B is all gold now, National A is 15 gold, only the graduation test must be done to get gold, am trying that one.

It's all good, fruicake. I haven't improved to more than 4 golds. And if you want 100% completion and many of the unavailable cars, First go all bronze. Then all silver. And with practice, you will go all gold. It's very possible to carry more gold than a hip-hop star. Just have to keep at it, you dig?

I guess this is a hate it or love it deal, but it can be tougher to get gold with a Dualshock 2. I've golded two Acceleration and Braking tests, but cleared two rally tests with gold. So keep on it if you want to join the all-gold club.

it would probabily take atleast 1 full day of nonstop playing to get all gold on the liscense..b/c thats how long it took me in GT3..but GT4 mabey alil diff..but i think i can get alot of if done in 1 full day of work..lol
