I have 4 gigs of ram :) . Does that count as hefty?

In your compaq laptop?

It says mine takes upto 2GB, but i think that would kill it IMHO. I might upgrade to 1gig. I'll see if in invalidates my warranty though.

No I have the 4 gigs in my main atx sized, AMD powered, SLI machine...

I have 512mb in my laptop, but 4 gigs in that would be nice, it would be very nice indeed  .

You'd probably be hit in the face by shards of your internals before you finished that sentence, though.

Love your avatar, although that might be going off topic.

I've changed it now though.

I think i'll fidn out how much i'm looking at to upgrade the ram in this to 1gb.

1gb, underclocked to roughly 174mhz (single channel) or 348 (dual). It'll be like this until I get around to trying to bump my FSB to around 245mhz from the 220 it's at right now. That will balance out the ram divider, but I'm not sure how fast my cpu can go on a stock heat sink while maintaining silent cooling when it's idle...

OEM PC2100 256MB stick from Hyundai.. :(
No name PC2700 256MB stick that I got from Newegg for $7.

Board supports up to 2Gb and has 2 DIMM slots. Too bad the standard for speed sucks balls.

1.5 gig in the iMac and 512 in the iBook. I would further upgrade the iBook, though I’m thinking about opting for one of the forthcoming Mactels. :)
