Did you guys hear about the new tv that released it has more than 1060p I think it was double that

No, but i do have a bonus coming up so will have to do a bit of looking, my projector is running 1920x1080@600Hz at the mo, not that i think it makes much difference to the game tbh.

Where is/are the computer monitor option/s? I had to nominate the 1080p HD option due to lack of options, but it would be interesting to know how many don't use a TV.

Me! I bought my PC monitor just to use it with the PS3. That way I can keep my TV available even while I play, and there's no fights with people living here as well who rather want to watch TV. In my opinion the screen makes the PS3 looking better, so it's way cheaper than a complete TV while providing the same or even a better use to me.

You want to play it in 3d, its nothing short of stunning! Shame I get a headache after 30 mins :(

Agreed. I've tried GT5 in 3D, yes it was good and something different, but I know I wouldn't be able to play it for hours at a time like on regular 1080p.

This is just awesome!!!! I mean going from a 15 year old TV straight to 1080p is a huge leap. It's like playing a whole new game.

You funny old bustard..!! I've got a number of 'rigs', by which I mean a HD TV both upstairs (32") and downstairs (36"), both running 720P. I've also got an old(ish) 22" TFT, currently parked on a packing crate. No idea what resolution it runs, but it does enough that I don't have to go upstairs if my wife wants to watch the TV.

When we get some more work done to the house, I'll trade the 22" TFT for a proper 24" HD TFT and build it into the chmney breast at the back of the house. With two decent screens and two PS3s, my wife and I can play Modern Warfare without having to split screen. Man, am I glad we don't have kids that we have to share this shiz with :sly:

I know, I know. I am really late to the party. Been spending most of my fun money on the Spec Miata. This 40" Samsung TV cost me about $100 less than a set of Hoosier racing tires. Cost me about the same as my HANS device.

After seeing the new TV, the smaller space that these take up and the picture quality, my wife wants to replace the main TV in the living room and get rid of the big TV cabinet. That room size will need a 50+" and she is talking about wanting to upgrade that one around Christmas time. Now we are getting into cost comparable to the new pro done Miata head that I want.

Once you have one HDTV, the rest in the house look so out of date that it won't be long before they are no longer used.

I've got a six year old 61" rear projection 1080p DLP. The picture is still great, but it's a little dim - needs a new bulb. :indiff:

We've dealt with similar problems in the same way :)

I've been an avid PC gamer for some time now (yes, along with those tempted to look down on console-gamers) with an odd predilection for the GT series. Playing games on a PC monitor just seems natural too.

The only thing that I don't like about GT5 on a monitor is the way I have to switch audio plugs and move the keyboard out of the way for the wheel. I really should have done something to make changing audio plugs easier by now.

I thought I'd check to make sure I was using 1080p and, down the video option list, found an option to turn RGB colours to "full". All of a sudden, my (GT5) world is brighter and more colourful! :p

I really wish I'd noticed this earlier. Even with this minor change, the game looks much better.

Yep use Sony brivia and has set up the HDMI control so when i press the ps button both tv and console turn on and go to input. Or I can turn the tv off and it turns both console and tv off

Exactly how mine is set up. I play on a 40in LCD Sony Bravia that outputs in 1080p.👍

I have been playing in 720p since I started playing GT5 on my 1080i TV. I seem to remember that it reduced blurry textures during gameplay, I'll try to switch back and see if I was wrong.

720p on my 2004 Panasonic viera 42 inch. Wish it was better but my dad gave it to me for free when he got a new tv. So I can't really complain about a free tv.

I play on the following:

37in. Racing setups (3D)

1080i movie theatre (Projector)

Must say the little tv's are pretty good!

EDIT: To those who havent played GT5 on a projector, you must do it, playing on a 148in screen; pretty dam good!

Chuck Norris uses the giant TV in New York City's Times Square for GT5.He uses the Sixxas controller.

The character Chuck Norris played in movies uses the N64 controller to play GT5. It isn't even plugged in. Chuck Norris, the person, has an appointment next Monday for another facelift ... in between paranoid, right-wing conspiracy broadcasts.

I bought myself a LG full hd 32"LCD about a year and a half ago
I would never look back and even today it's got the best picture I've seen for that size!
Makes everything that much more immersive along with the turtle beach headset!

There needs to be another option: Got HDTV but use the standard scart lead therefor not getting HD at all.
I used to install sattelite tv and the amount of people that had their PS3 hooked up to a nice HDTV with the standard PS3 cable was gobsmacking, even went to my mates the other week and he had it connected through crappy scart!
Why SONY dont bundle a HDMI with PS3 STILL i dont know.

A friend called one day and said "We just had the cable company install HD service and the TV looks worse?"

I went over and found that the cable guy had hooked up the HD box with composite video. (Yellow). Now that's bad service.

Probably because Sony sells HDMI cables, why give away for free what you can sell? I don't think anything I have purchased has ever came with HDMI cables, including the last Blu-Ray player I bought and it was HDMI output only.

Really, they also sell scart/rca cables too. When you pay 250 for a Sony product they can't chuck in a HDMI lead that will cost them almost nothing and show PS3 at it best possible quality?
Sony are always trying to push new tech, blu-ray, 3D etc but don't even give the basic tools for the job, typical Sony.

Oh I agree completely and since they make the cables it would cost them very little. I think what they are banking on (pun intended) is that a portion of consumers will go out and buy the $35 to $55 dollar cables instead of the cheaper ones thus they can make even more money. Like I said, my last Blu-Ray player has three connections total: power, network and HDMI. Guess how many cables came in the box...1, for the power. Which means that the purchase is useless without at least one more purchase to go along with it. Typical of pretty much all manufacturers theses days, not just Sony.
