The PS3 outputs 1080p but my TV downscales it for its display panel of 32inch 720p.
I Don't Own BDs As they get Boring fast and GT5 is only 1 of the very few game that even run in 1080p. (so most games are upscaled buy the TV)
720p Is not a very big jump up as I owned a 576p component TV.
(Still do its in the Other room. Ive borrowed 3D TVs and post production 3D is a fad. not enough live 3D content on this side of the pond for the cost at this time. )

52'' Aquos (1080p) that I bought in 2007 for $3,000 online, was $3,600 at retail stores at the time. Big huge investment for me, but still glad I bought it. It has an amazingly bright and sweet looking picture, but does have the usual red push, not bad though.

Still, it's been on about every day, just about all day since and still kicking. I run GT5 and most other PS3 games with sharpness adjusted to -4. That is essentially turning ''sharpness'' function ''off'', on an LCD which makes a huge difference to these PS3 games as far as jaggies go. I sit pretty close in a sim rig, so it's the most important setting to get right. I'm still blown away by how good this screen looks, especially on Bluray movies, all these years later.

Next step would be a 52 or 55'' 3D HDTV.. but this TV might be still kicking 5 years from now.

my old 1st gen LCD insignia, a 26", still going strong, not the best black levels, nor refresh rate, but this little bugger does 1080p, and I appreciate the finer draw distances on curbs.

Recently I returned two TV's, both 40+" but their soap opera effects, or disgusting backlight bleeding left me loving my old faithful even more.

waiting for OLED early next year to make the next change.

i love gt5
Is there a lot of difference between 720P and 1080P on a normal size Flat Screen TV?

Not as big as going from sd to 720p but its noticeable.

95% of PS3 games are 720p anyway so its not such a problem (unless you watch a lot of Blurays)
But you'll need to upgrade to get the best out of PS4!
Hopefully OLED will be out by then but will be very expensive at first.

46" Samsung LED and a 23" acer 3D.

3D seems great in some cars and not in others yet to find a game that really puts the wow factor into gaming in 3D.

Looking tio upgrade my 46" Samsung but undecided as yet between a panasonic or the new samsung 60"

I also just got a full 1080P tv from LG, awesome bit of kit. It's 3D too, shame that the 3D in GT5 sucks though but otherwise the clarity is great, even though I am only at most 3 foot from the tv.

I am palying GT5 from the beggining on 42 inch LCD Phillips 1080i and Logitech Z5500 5.1. However I am pretty upset about the video - I mean, you have all the settings in the TV, in PS3 and in-game, which is pretty hard to set a really sharp picture. I guess now I am playing on deafault settings and it is a little to dark for me, but I am done with testing every option.
Next year I hope I´ll buy some 55 inch LCD or Plasma.

I'm playing on a 40" Bravia 1080P HDTV with a Yahama/Klipsch/Mission 5.1 sound system. While the video is great, the sound is AWESOME ! The F2007 screams at redline. The neighbours love me ! :D

Only reason I bought my HD TV was so GT5P would look amazing compared to a CRT one. I also use fiber optic audio lead for 5.1 audio.

The only reason I bought most of the gadgets for my room was for the sake of GT5 being the best possible experience , little did I know it would be another 3 years before it finally came out!

GT5 only displays in 1080p when its showing a replay. Actual in-game racing is 720p.
What changes is the framerate. Not the resolution. Trackside cameras (replays and B-Spec) are 30FPS with more post-processing applied. Driving cameras (chase cam, cockpit view, etc.) are always 60FPS.
