If it makes you feel any better, I tried to get a satellite dish a few months ago. The installer came over, and looked at the surrounding trees, and told me that the only way to get reception was to knock down my neighbor's house and sit it on a 400 ft platform. (low declination angle needed in line to Denver. Bums)

Make sure you do it when hes not home

I have a Toshiba widescreen HD tv. I wanted to get a dish so that I could take advantage of the enhanced signal, and upcoming HD programming. No such luck. It's not going to happen with regular cable either, as that bandwith is what they use for cable modems now.
Basically all I get is really nice DVD playback. (which is no small deal with me)
