I have ISDN(cheap-o version of ADSL/Broadband). It is about 128kp/s so that's about just over twice as fast as 56K.

What happens though, is when we got ISDN installed, they installed an extra phone line. ISDN uses both phone lines to get an optimine speed of 128kp/s, but when a phone call comes through, it jumps off the main phone line and slows down to 64kp/s I think. Then when the call is over, it jumps back up to 128kp/s.

Get ISDN then! It's way cheaper than ADSL and I'm sure you would be happy with it. Just make sure that you have a USB Port though or you won't be able to get 128kp/s out of it, you'll probably only get aroun 64kp/s.
