I'm just gonna step in here and say that i'm with gumpy....it's completely random....i don't even know why people bother with their little tricks....ah but what im saying now has probobly been said a million and a half times and people still create their fantasies about how to choose the car they want......

it's like...if it happens to coincidentaly work one day.....they are automatically convinced that they found a way to choose the cars.....regardless they come to the forum and blab away like they are god, without even testing it :irked:

i'm tired of it.....it's like someone trying to sell you a "magnetic cell phone antenea!" sure you may have had better signal the day you were using it.....(maybe because you WERENT inside a parkade) so automatically IT WORKS.........

how many colors does the S2000 LM edition come in? so far i've seen black/orange, black/red. does it come in blue like the AI controlled one?

also in amatuer type-r, does the NSX-R only come in black color? the dealer has white and yellow color.

Yes and Yes.

There are 3 S2000 LM Cars as you have mentioned and the black NSX-R is the only prize colour of the Type R. The Type S Zero comes in Boulder Opal Blue and an unnamed Raybrig colour.
 
Hey did you use any guide for this gumpy, and how many memory cards do you have...i might just want to do this. :)
 
I have 3 memory cards but you only need 2. I just didn't think it through properly when I started.

I started with a saved game with 10,000,000cr and all licences done (gee how did I do that).

This was saved on both cards.

Obviously you need a car from somewhere. I bought one from my old game save.

For single race series where multiple colours are available this is the process.

1. Race and win all races except the final race. Save on mem card 1.
2. Race and win final race.
3. If the car is one that you want then save the game on mem card 2 (very important).
4. If there are still colours you want then restart game from mem card 1.
5. Win final race.
6. If car is what you want then buy the 1st car from memory card 2 and go to step 7. If car is not what you want then go to step 4.
7. Save game on mem card 2.
8. If you still need more cars then load from mem card 1.
9. Win the car.
10. If you want the car then buy both cars from mem card 2 and then save game on mem card 2.
11. To save money, when you win the last car that you need save on mem card 1. Load from mem card 2 where all other cars would have been saved and buy the last car from mem card 1.

Hopefully by now you can see the process.

For championship series the process is the same except of course you do not need to do any more races.

So I would be better off buying a new mem card (i would have 3) so i can keep my 100% save with every car...and i would have to distribute the cars evenly between mem cards (200 cars is barely enough for one of each)

Yes. Because you need to have 2 new game saves not for cars but for the stuffing around to get more than one from the series.

What you could do is save your current game on your new mem card. That way you have heaps of cars and you can sell some for cash as you need heaps of it.

I have my 99% on my old card. I was using this for some of the new cars but I now have about 196 on there I think.

I started with two fresh mem cards with a few setups from my old card and the 10,000,000cr.

You then keep using the 2 mem cards.

My current list is saying that there are 230 unique prize car / colours. I had about 100 of these anyway in my first game save. I had 1 of every car. You would have quite a few as well.
 
Yes, i have every single car in my garage at the moment.

Yeah, but only if you have 2 more memory cards because you need them to trade and at different times either one of them becomes your main save so you can not use your main save as anything other than a temporary garage that trades cars.
 
Diggity damn. :grumpy: Oh well, I'll stick with my 100% save :D

Just got the 2 remaining RX8s.

The EVOLV puaple (yes this is how it is spelt in the game) took about 5 restarts. The Black Mica took about 60-70 restarts.

I know I am going to have nightmares tonight. "Is it Random, Is it Not" type of nightmares.

Let me tell you there was no logic to the prize cars that came up. Just 15 Nissan Z concepts (so many that I kept one even though I already have one in my other game), 15 C West Razo Silvias, 20 Toyota GT One Road Cars (and yes I kept one), 9 EVOLV puaple RX8s and 1 Black Mica RX8.

IT IS RANDOM JUST $@%&@$%&$@%& ANNOYING.

And no X did not help me and neither did doing extra 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 laps, qualifying, standing on my head, doing it all left handed.

I was that frustrated that I did lower myself to trying all these things and none of them helped. The car I wanted came up when I returned to the trusted quit the last race as quickly as possible, get the prize money as quickly as possible etc etc just get to the prize car screen as quickly as possible and then it came up.

There now that is off my chest lets go and win some more cars. I am now down to 47 as I also got the remaining ZZII.

Luckily my 99% game save had about 24,000,000cr so I am using that to buy the Speed12s when I win them. In case you are wondering I went through a stage where I did heaps of enduros to win the F1s that was until I got my S license.

I also finished the beginner league last night and got the Lancer but did not save the game. I got a drink ready for my 2 year old son to go to bed with and I hear a CD type of sound ie CD hitting the ground. I went back to the rumpus room and he had ejected the disc and reset the PS2 so I lost the car and was left with half the Vitz beginner and all the Altezza series stil to go.

But worse than that when I put the disc back in the PS2 it was not registering. I tried again but still no go. I took the disc out and it looked a little scratched but had lots of dirty finger prints on it. I got my lint/scratch free cloth and cleaned the disc and it now works. Chose not to redo beginner league so still need to do this.

I didn't realise how difficult the Vitz beginner series is compared to other beginner series. It is not unbeatable but it is not the case that the AI Vitz are crippled like in other beginner races. I needed quite a few changes to beat them and they use the Euro edition.

i heard of this other trick which seemed to work for me all the time. i'm not joking. after u get your cash, wait for the OK to blink a certain number of times and hit X or O

2=top left car
4=bottom left car
6=bottom right car
8=top right car

Gumpy, do you have a list somewhere of all the colour combinations of prize cars?

I'm currently going back to some cups to get the cars I didn't get the first time, would like to know what colours are available before i deciede to setle for one and later realizing I could've gotten a colour I'd like more...

Funny that, I hadn't played GT3 for a while, then got back into it about a week ago.
Wanted to get some of them prize cars I didn't have yet, and my first stop was GameFaqs. But odly enough I couldn't find all the info I needed on there, then I remembered this board :D that's how I got back here hehehe ;)
