GT5 21 years

I stated playing GT1 at the age of 9 and have owned all of the released games since :)

WHAT THE ****? 4 quintillions? I never thought this was possible. Anyone knows the credits cap on this game?

GT4- 9
GT5- 14/15

I've learned to drive (kind of taught myself using LFS/GT)
Just over a year 'til I get my permit!

I can't help to think of that South Park episode where Cartman freezes himself in anticipation for the Nintendo Wii.

Anyhow, when I first started playing GT I was 11 years old, and as most 11 year old boys did, I played a boat-load of video games. Now I'm 22 waiting for this game and I hardly play any new video games anymore (these new shooters for the PS3 are just too complex for the casual gamer I think; I downloaded a demo of MGS4 the other night and could not figure out the camera controls for the life-of-me), except for GT and Final Fantasy when they come out.

To answer this thread's question, I imagine I'll be 23 when this game is released. I expect that Sony will reveal its release date at this year's E3. Since the game was delayed this past month because of "production issues," I imagine that Sony is just strategically placing the release of the game around the holiday season. Q4/10 sounds like a good time for this game to be released. We've waited more than 4 years for this game, what's a few more months?

Thank God you reminded me of that episode just in time, as i was clearing my fridge already. ;)

I was just under 10 when GT4 was released, so I'm going to be probably be 16 when GT5 comes out. When I think about it, I feel kinda funny. I am just a "kid" and I have never even driven a car (well, not on the road) and I still think GT has taught me enough for me being able to drive. I mean, I know the principles of driving a real car and understand the physics involved. I have always driven all kinds of motorized vehicles. I also know the traffic rules, because I have a moped. Getting a license will be very much easier for me thanks to GT.

I really have to stop myself quoting those episodes (Go God Go & Go God Go XII) every time someone has a fit about GT5 not being released yet. I've watched them quite a few times, every time I see an otter now I can't help myself shouting "Otters attack"! If you've seen them you'll know ;)

I got GT shortly after my daughter begged her way into getting us to buy a PS1 for her, she was 12 at the time. It came with a demo disc and GT was on it. After playing the demo I went directly to the store and bought the game. I have bought every GT game available in the US and have enjoyed playing them. My daughter got married last week, she will be 25 in May.................I hope to get GT5 before the grandkids come along and take all my time

That's what I thought to. But for us it is as hard or harder to get a license than other people, since we start with an erroneous concept of how to drive a car.

I wouldn't call my concept of driving "erroneus" because as I said, I have driven a real car but just not on the road. I also have experience in driving along traffic and I know the rules. I hope Gran Turismo has given me more understanding on how to react and steer the car in surprising situatiotions, though I understand GT and a real car can't really be compared with each other.

Since the series' inception, I have:

Had 3 children
Got married
Moved house 6 times
Joined the armed forces
Left the armed forces
Owned 8 cars
Crashed 2 cars
Went from earning £8k per year to £52k per year
Lost my mother and godfather and brother-in-law
Worked in 5 different countries
Gained 5 stone
Lost 3 stone

I was 18 when I first played GT, and I'll be 32 when GT5 comes out.

Jeez . . . .

None of the skills you learn in GT will help you get a driving licence (unless it's a racing licence). In a racing game your aim is to try and take a car to the absolute limit of it's potential, on a driving test you are trying to drive within the laws of the road and ultimately in the safest way as possible. My advice to you would be to forget everything to do with GT when driving on your driving test.

The license tests do include learning how to keep the car under control on difficult scenarios, for example, spinning. I also have to learn driving on ice and snow. It's not only about safe driving.

Ah your obviously from Scandinavia or some other regularly snow covered country where they give you a proper driving test rather than the one we get in the UK.
