Hi guys,

I've been trying since this game came out to beat the last race on Cote d'Azur on the Historic Racing Car Cup on B spec mode. No matter what car I use (that is allows me and I own) I can not beat it.

I always finish 7 place. But this is due from two reasons it seems. 1) My car is not fast enough, even with upgrades. and 2) My AI driver always runs into the wall coming out of the tunnel. This happens more often than not.

Any tips on car set up and what car I should be using? In my car I have a Ferrari 512BB, Jaguar XJ13 Race Car, Shelby Cobra 427 GT40 Race car and the Toyota 7 Race Car.

I've tried them all but to no avail. :-[

Search is your friend. This topic has been discussed in many threads.

Without trying to sound pompous, I would do a search.... there really are loads of threads on it with lots of good advice, more than can be passed on here in a single thread.

There are some good settings, including use of ballast, and good tactics discussed.

I had the same trouble as you, followed advice in the threads and eventually came 3rd.... which was enough! Never bothered going back for gold because it's out of kilter with the rest of the game..... good luck!

Get a 2J or use a class 30+ driver.
Without the those two you can finish 2nd at most (due to the bug where your driver hits the wall after the tunnel if you tell him to speed up or overtake).

Or if you tell him to maintain pace or slow down. The only way I got him to not hit the wall is to run him ice-cold. If he's warm and I tell him to slow down he still hits the wall. Of course, running ice-cold isn't a good way to the front but a terrific way to the back.

But then the problem is - he's too slow, that's why I said you need a higher class driver or a 2J.
The race is for level 19 (I might be wrong) - a class 19 driver doesn't have enough speed for getting the 1st place while he's cool.
As for the cars I used:
- Toyota 7 (2nd place)
- Jaguar XJ13 (2nd place)
- Chaparral 2D (2nd place)
- Chaparral 2J (1st place)

Used a class 24 driver at the time.

I won the event with Toyota 7 in the first race and with Ferrari 330 in Monaco event (I cannot win it with 7 as it too slow in corners).
