How to disable the horn...

How on earth does one turn the stupid horn off? I'm racing, not driving in bad Christmas rush hour traffic! It drives me nuts!!!

If you're accidentally pressing the horn you can remap your controller so that it's no longer set to L3.
You can find this function under "Options - Hardware - Change Button Assignments"

If you're annoyed by other people honking at you, politely ask them to stop, turn your game sound off or ignore them. Those are your only options 👍

Well, I mean you could scream at them rather than being polite... but I strongly advise against that

The horn button is the stick I drive with! The button map thing is the way to go!

Sweet as, you didn't outline where the problem was occurring so I just assumed the problem might have been with online racing as I know a few Italian drivers myself

How can you possibly be pressing the horn frequently enough for it to become annoying?
I think I've accidentally pressed mine three times in the past two years.

If I'm driving my Renault 5 though, I press it continuosly (on purpose) just to hear that custom, low-pitched air horn.

Remember #112 is the well known Tank Horn.
Quite a hassle to record and stuff. You can almost hear how happy I was when I hoinked horn #279.

Just a random guess, but I have the feeling that he's one of those players who pushes the buttons as hard as possible. If he's doing the analog sticks, then the L3 and R3 are firmly being smashed out the backside of the controller.

We've all seen players like that. I think they assume that pressing harder will force the game to do what they want it to. I think those are the ones who also post the, "I need to replace the springs in my DS3" threads.
