How to permanently turn TC off

I get sick of having to do it every race I managed to get the line to go away somehow and that doesnt come back but TC is killing me when I forget to turn it off.

I agree it is anoying. But if you get yourself a Logitec GT you can alter your settings such as TC during the race by pressing just two buttons.

I haven't looked... but in GT4 wasn't there a kind of 'master' options page where you could set the default?

nope in gt4 you could only turn it off in yr garage, on yr specific car in the settings, seems to be gone now.

I must admit, it is getting awfully tedious to keep checking to make sure it's off.

I hate nothing more than starting an event and putting my foot down out of a corner and getting "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Tim".

can you go into detail on how or what buttons you press? also does something pop up on the screen indicating that you have changed the settings?

You can do it with a controller to, just remap the controls.

I've finally gotten into the habit of checking and adjusting as needed before each race, but it really feels like a very odd and annoying omission to not just let us set the driving aids in one central place, and then with overrides possible if needed.

As far as I've seen, you can't set the traction control universally. It seems to be on a car-by-car basis.

Yes, but unfortunately it doesn't even seem to remember the settings for each car. I haven't noticed exactly when it resets them, but it may be at the start of each event (so it may keep your setting for the eg. three event races) or if you've been using another car?

Like MasterDex has said, I get the impression you only need to set it once for a car and it is remembered for that car. I'm not sure if once you switch cars and then switch back whether it will have "forgotten" or not.

in gt5p i always had tc off and it stayed that way but gt5 is different but i havent gotten mine yet thanks to amazon

The reason it keeps turning off is probably because it is under "Driving Options" and not the settings of the car which are always saved. I doubt we can do anything about it.
