If you want to preview your car in several different colors all you have to do is go to the paint shop and start painting. Try as many colors as you want. Each time the chip disappears and you lose $2,000. But none of this is real until you exit. So once you decide what paint you want, use the ps button to exit the game WITHOUT SAVING. When you restart the game the car is unpainted, the chips are still there, and so is your money.

oh really? good to know. Anyone else confirm this. I don't have 2000 and a chip to waste at the moment. I know I'm cheap!

Yes, I can confirm it works. Been doing that with my matte colors so I don't waste them.

Interesting. Same method that was found for gifting more than one car per day, so it makes sense. PD doesn't "finalize" things until you click 'OK' or Exit areas.
I'll try it out later. Thanks.

oh thanks for this! I've wasted tons of paint chips only to find out the color it turned out looked horrible.

I previewed my Cobra R in at least 10 colors. I have to say it's a knockout in Gran Turismo Yellow. Of course I'm partial to yellow anyway.

I would advise being careful with that more than one gift car trick. I tryed it a time or two and it worked fine and then I wanted to send one car to my other account and still be able to send one to my brother that day so I did this. The car I gifted to my other account came up and said Operation Complete as usual but when I logged into the other account the car was not there and has not been seen since.

Of course this car was a Minolta so that was a little painful to loose at this point in the game. Anyway the car I sent to my brother arrived and this is the only time I have seen it fail. I do not know if it was related to exiting out or if it was a GT or PSN glitch but be aware it could happen to you as well.

BTW thanks for the tip. I'll check it out later.

this used to work but appears to have been fixed by PD, so that it no longer works, I lost a few cars trying. Some people say it still works, but I would advise against sending more than one car per day if you don't want to lose them.

Interesting on the paint though, wonder if PD will fix this as well, I hope not as I would love to see the car in that color without losing 2K credits and the paint chip if I don't like it... I don't really consider that "cheating" either, you just want to try other colors, I mean in real life you can use photoshop to do the same thing...

I lost 3 GT40s trying to do the multiple car trick. Good thing they were birthday cars and not something I spent "real" money on.

re: paint... I have been surprised a few times by paint colors I thought would look good and when I saw it I was like "holy crap, that looks like ***!" And then again I've tried a color I didn't think would look good and been pleasantly surprised that it worked well on that car. Being able to know if a color looks good on a car before wasting money and a paint chip is definately not cheating.

This works in the tuner shop as well. you can add all the parts to a car, see your final specs to decide if it's worth upgrading. If you do not like what you see just ps button, exit and upon returning to gt mode the car will be back to stock configuration.

By exit I mean exit the game not the tuner shop. If you exit the tuner shop the parts will be saved and you will be out 100,000 plus.

Don't know if you know this or not so i will tell you.You can edit your post if you need to add something instead of making a new post relating to it.
