I have 5 that I painted different colors. Pretty cool. I also have a bunch of other previously unpaintable cars that I have painted. I'll be making a photo album soon.

As others have said, its only possible by modifying save data. Although, it does make you wonder if it was intended to be possible as I believe the vinyl's change colour too.
Unfortunately, its not allowed to discuss how-to's on modifying the save data so you'll have to ask somewhere outside the Forum or google it.

Here's an alternative solution for some fun, though:

Don't do any hacking whatsoever, wait a short while, then p*** yourself laughing at those who have been banned because of hacking.
