Sorry, I don't have time to answer you.

As one of our moderating staff once said "GTPlanet helps those who help themselves".

Im in the same boat, but I searched and nothing realy came up. Like hero said "sharkport" what would I do to record it on my computer with one, or is their any other more simple ways to go about this . I am very sorry about asking a question that some people may see as a dumb question but im pretty sure you all were at this point once. So please help me out

A Sharkport is not a recording device - it is a file transfer device. The files do not contain video, they contain code for the GT3 software to construct a replay from. Using a Sharkport will not allow you to view or record replay files on your PC. For that you need to play the replay on the PS2 and record that by plugging the PS2 video out into a capture card or similar peripheral.

Ok, but what program(s) would I use to get it on the computer and get it in a WMA, AVI, or other video types so I could get the video to editing?

Hooch...

What Famine is telling you is in order to go where you want to go with this (namely WMA, AVI, or other video), you need to have a video capture card in your computer where you can plug the video out of the PS2 into the video in of the video card. Then you would capture it in the same fashion you would if you plugged your digital camera or vcr into the same video card/video capture card.

There are basically two types here... One is both a video card/video capture card all in one (some of which even have TV tuners on board). The other is strictly a video capture card that works in conjunction with your regular video card. That can either be an external card or internal card.

As for what video editing program to use at that point, there are any one of a hundred out there that might work. Some will work better with some cards and others better with others. You PC's capability will definately have some effect on that as well. Your best option is to use the one that comes with the video/video capture card as the company that built the card has tested that program with their card and worked out any streaming or whatever bugs you might otherwise encounter.

$100.00 +/- will get you everything you need from your local electronics supply house, a Best Buy or Circuit City type place.

Most of my friends that are posting videos are using a program called Dazzle. It is one of the more popular video capture systems.

Is that the Dazzle 80 or the much more interesting 150?

He wanted to know how to transfer the replay saves to his PC, and that is what I told him.

And note that the original question was "replays" and not "replay files" - two different entities entirely (although he could have meant either).

I think he left, so anything we told him is useless. Well, not really because others will get the info, provided the damn n00bs notice the search button that is.

Heero is right about the sharkport, but you can also use a video capture card, and just transfer your replays and record them to your computer
