How TV ruined your life...

This is just as funny as Screenwipe and Newswipe, which I liked. The Aspiration episode was the best so far 👍

Charlie Brooker should stick to making programs like this, 10 O'Clock live is just awful in my opinion.

Brooker is for me one of the funniest comedians on TV right now. I've been hoping there will be another season of 'You Have Been Watching' because it had me in stitches.

10 o'clock live is terrible, even the audience don't find it funny. I literally just watch Brookers 10 minute bit which is always excellent and then turn it off, he is so underused.

Robin.

I'm jealous of him getting married to Konnie Huq. It also ruins his image of life being one big nightmare.

I didn't know he was marrying Konnie Huq, Dara O'Briain would have something to say about that!

*warning about the language in the video*

In any case him marrying someone (especially someone the polar oppose of him) kinda destroys the illusion that he is just one big cynical world hating man... which is the best thing about him!

I wouldn't say Konnie is the opposite of him, she may feel the same way about things, just different style jobs.
If I knew Konnie liked that I should have made contact with her years ago. The I could have fallen back on Liz barker before she got pregnant. Then there came Zoe Salmon.
The glory days are over my friend.

I completely agree. I've been watching Brooker since Screenwipe was first shown a few years back. I really liked his 'Review of the Year' and Newswipe programs, plus Gameswipe was quite interesting. I feel that 'How TV Ruined Your Life' is a new take on the original Screenwipe series.

Also, I hope 'You Have Been Watching' returns this year, maybe replacing 10 O'clock live, where the only decent thing about it is Brooker's brief news stint.

Excellent show, although it just seems to be a rehashed version of Screenwipe (not that I'm complaining, the more Brooker on TV the better!)

I have to agree on the 10 o'clock Live thing though, the only parts I watch are Brookers (and then stay on for a little glimpse of Lauren Laverne!).

There's a aura of trying to be "down with the kids" about that show that I just don't like, and the guests don't have anywhere near enough time to explain their views so what you end up with is everybody shouting over each other trying to get their point across.

+1 for another season of You Have Been Watching 👍

Even Gran Turismo is referenced.

He used to work for a gaming mag (PC Gamer iirc), so he knows his stuff about gaming too.

Shame this show is so bad... The "alternative election show" with Jimmy Carr, David Mitchell and Charlie Brooker was quite good, so I had high hopes for this lineup.

I love 'How TV Ruined Your Life...', the rant about The Notebook had me in stitches!

To be honest I wish the BBC had just re-commissioned Screen/Newswipe. Well I say that, for all I know Charlie didn't want to do another series of the same thing again and this was all his idea. Much as I like this, it's just not quite as slick - some of the little cutaway gags for example just aren't little enough. As an example, I never used to be able to keep up with Screenwipe simply from the sheer issue of laughing over half the gags, while I've found it's the opposite way around with this new format.

...and yes 10 O'Clock Live is pretty dire. Not quite sure who to blame for that really.

It is a good series, as others have said, newswipe was a better approach. I watched Charlie Brooker for years now, and I still find him very funny.

I laughed at the spoof in the last episode where David Mitchell reviewed the rave scene, he was completely out of place

I've also noticed that the part where Charlie Brooker was pretending to cheer on the Nazi's has already been taken out of context on YouTube.
