How will GT Sport be updated with content do you think?

I didn't play GT5 and GT6 beyond the original content so I have little experience with how Polyphony updates the GT games. Did they update these two games with chunks of content or were single tracks and cars released as they were finished? Or maybe a mix of both?

Would love to hear some insights on this because I don't know what to expect really. I would be very satisfied if we got a couple of tracks and new cars before christmas, but perhaps that's asking too much.

I see cars and tracks along with refinement to the penalty system, daily races etc. Unfortunately the only additions to the sp side will probably an addition of professional driver challenges above the current intermediate only and some circuit challenges as new tracks are added. Which unfortunately will do nothing to assuage the players who wanted to see the old style sp in this new game. But, it is PD and nothing would surprise me.

On GT5 and GT6 new cars were added almost every two weeks, specially on GT6, at some point, a car at each time, mostly Vision GT cars. GT6 also had Ayrton Senna events added through updates.

Judging from what Kaz and PD were saying in the past months, it's expected GT Sport would have about 500 cars by the end of its lifetime (about 4 years?). Notably Kaz said it will be added GT500 and vintage cars in the future.
It said also that it would be added more offline events and some tracks.
All very vague, specially the offline events, since it was said before "full game" (let's call it that way) was launched and could be referred to Missions whom where not present on beta versions. About tracks no information added, even if there will be real world or fictional tracks.

Personally, I have absolutely no hope on an offline career mode be added.
Maybe something like seasonal events on GT6, with temporary challenges requiring gold to gift new DLC cars, being time trails or offline races.
Cars will depend on licensing. I would expect some vintage Porsches and comeback of some vintage models from GT6
Ex. Porsche 917 (all new) with Ford GT40 and Ferrari 330 P3/4 (already on GT6)
Ex. Porsche 956/962 with the Group C cars from GT6 (Jaguar, Mercedes, Nissan, Mazda, Toyota)
Expect a pretty significant portion of fictional Vision GT cars to be added.

On tracks I have second to none hope to comebacks like Laguna Seca, Spa or Le Mans, certainly they no longer have licensing of them (and they no longer have GT Academy).
Probably some fictional tracks, including snow rally tracks and some japanese tracks (Tsukuba certainly has a legion of fans).

Honestly?

I expect very little.

Polyphony is notably lazy, disorganized and works when it wants.

GTS is an unplanned badly planned game. Five years is a long time to present such mediocre content.

The GTS is embarrassed, in terms of content, when compared to Forza 7 and PC2. These games, by the way, have already received several updates in recent weeks.

It's amazing PC2 to have 60 circuits and more than 100 layouts.

So, about GTS, honestly?

I believe in 30 cars and 5 circuits at the most until 2019.

Without rain. No dynamic climate.

Nowadays, PD is more concerned with marketing and sporting events than being a GAMES MANUFACTURER.

Free DLC content were already promised along with 500 cars. The 15% mentioned is 15% of GT6, so that means the 85% is going to be the offline content from GT6 (RPG car collecting mode?)

Honestly I do not expect very much additional Single player content.

I went back to playing 5 & 6 to race some tracks, in my opinion we'll never have the multitude of tracks and cars that these two games had.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

Nope.

Five years since what?

The GTS is embarrassed, in terms of content, when compared to Forza 7 and PC2. These games, by the way, have already received several updates in recent weeks.

FM7 has received a few updates and a car pack. Some of the earlier updates were relatively minor — adding hoppers, turning on features — while the One X-timed patch was substantial.

PCARS2 has received one patch shortly after launch, and a One X update. No news on this much-talked about future patch, or any of the DLC.

It's amazing PC2 to have 60 circuits and more than 100 layouts.

There's a huge difference in quality in them too, from Sonoma (quite poor) to Algarve (quite great). Only some are laserscanned, as well.

Free DLC content were already promised along with 500 cars.

No. It's a shame this misinformation is so widespread. All Yamauchi-san said was that the game had no microtransactions. He never confirmed all future DLC would be free of charge.

The 15% mentioned is 15% of GT6, so that means the 85% is going to be the offline content from GT6 (RPG car collecting mode?)

Also no.

I wish: more cars and tracks (like, a substantial one, a huge and themed dlc pack) and a decent offline career.

What will we get: “refinements” on the sport mode. Maybe, more variarions on the daily races and the penalty system tweaked. And one car per month.

Those are my guesses.

Hopefully the number of locations gets bumped up to at least 30 or so, but I'll be surprised if that happens. I'm expecting a lot of cars though.

How much did the DLC cars cost in GT6? I never played, I was in Forza at the time. Forza had packs and singles. I probably blew another 50$ on this stuff. I’ve learned now, with DLC, wait until it becomes abundantly clear which DLC cars become OP buy those. Then you won’t waste money... oh wait....

Sorry, man.

You see what you want.

GTS is a very lazy and underhanded game.

GTS continues a lazy product. Yep. Yep.

Against facts, there are no arguments

The GTS circuits have bad scenarios. The grass of some circuits is very amateur, in the style PS3.

The branding and the smoke from the brakes are very bad. The scenarios are INDESTRUCTIBLE. Vehicle damage is ridiculous when compared to PC2 and F7.

Pc2 does not have the budget of Polyphony, and has presented a spectacular amount of circuits. It's shameful the number of GTS tracks.

Five years of development to present a limited set of content? It does not justify!

Idleness and lack of planning.

I honestly don't think you have a clue about what it takes to create software. That is not an insult, simply an observation based on your postings.

A GT500 class would be nice, even nicer would be a vintage GT500 class with old skylines and stuff. Road cars would be nice for drifting but I prefer more classes tbh :) that's how I hope it goes, with the odd extra track, more the better.

Considering you still can't get the development period for the game correct, you'll have to forgive me if I find your "facts" highly suspect.

You have opinions. Not facts. Don't confuse the two.

Wrong.

Facts are poor content. Check.

Facts are poor circuit list. Check.

Facts are poor cars list. Check.

Facts are damage and collisions poor. Check.

Facts are five years of GTS production and poor content. Check.

Facts are the absence of RAIN and DYNAMIC CLIMATE. Check.

Am I making it up? I'm lying? Of course not!

And you know the worst?

When we compare GTS - a game AAA - with its competitors (PC2 and F7), its content is poor.

It's you, my friend, who thinks. Because you find the content of GTS salutary, when, in fact, it is not.

It is not because GTS manages to be inferior to GTs from previous generations. In the present generation, it is an incoherence.

That simple.

But it's alright. It's your opinion to find GTS a super complete and compelling game.

Based on comparisons with other games, GTS proves incomplete game.

GTS has exceptional gameplay. But it lacks content. This is the truth.

This is fact: limited content.

I do not "thinking". GTS is a limited game.

I close this way.

Some more tracks, I hope. That is the biggest area where the game is lacking, IMO.
I honestly don't care about the number of cars. More than half of them I will never use anyway.

I believe in 30 cars and 5 circuits at the most until 2019.

Trying to stay on topic and not bring up other developers that may or may not be wiping the floor with content, I agree with you.
Given PD attention to detail I wouldn't expect much more.

More tracks would be very welcome. I'm satisfied with the current single player content and spend most of my time in custom race mode. I do wish that victories in arcade mode would at least show somewhere in the stats though.
