I can't believe how old he looks in that photo. They just aired one of his movies a few nights ago. He was a weird one and we'll never see another one like him.

This really is a sad day, Hunter was one of my favorite authors, and even if he was a little off the wall at times, his work will still shine on.

Yeah, I've had it in my signature for a while.

It was from a magazine called Adbusters, I don't think it's from one of his books, I think he just gave the quote for the magazine.

Yeah, I'm gonna miss him too. Been reading his SI column online on and off for the last couple of years. He was a big Colts fan, being from Louisville and all.

A damn shame. First time in awhile I've been in a small bit of shock about someone offing themselves.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72, Better Than Sex: Confessions of A Political Junkie, and The Rum Diary, to name a few, are all must reads, IMO. One of the most visceral, nasty, biting, brilliant, mad, simultaneously totally irresponsible and yet socially forward-thinking authors I've ever read. And I've read a lot. To me, this man was infinitely more important than innocuous acts like the Beatles should ever have been.
