Well, weve got the Fit now, and the Accent. 10-13 seconds? Slow!
Id rather have a car do a 1/4 mile in that. :trouble:. And Sniffs, lay off GT4 Rule. Hyundai rocks and the only person who hates it here is Condraz whats-his-face who said he'd feel safer in a Mercedes MotorCarriage whatchamacallit. Dumbass.

Man. I was reading some British car magazine comparo of compacts today. They had Honda Fit(Jazz), Suzuki Swift, Ford Fiesta, along with bunch other cars from Smart, Renault, Hyundai, etc. Most of those cars were very cool looking, going 0-62mph in 10-13seconds while achieving 40-50mpg! We are missing out!

I completely agree. I've been reading CAR Magazine on and off for about a year now, and I usually buy the $10 issues when they have small-car tests that seem interesting. It really is a shame that those smaller, more efficent cars can't come to the US. They are actually a lot safer than what most people think, quite cheap to produce, maintain, and repair, and presumably quite cheap to insure as well.

Thank the breaucrats in Washington matched with the auto companies for not wanting to bring them here. Our safety laws are too tight to get these small cars here, and with the added risk presented by 6000lb SUVs and pickup trucks, you would almost have to be insane to drive a car like the SMART ForTwo anywhere besides a large-city.

On my want list:
- Ford Fiesta
- Opel/Vauxhall Corsa, Tigra
- Renault Clio, Megane
- Peugot 207, 307
- Citroen C2, C3, and C4

...Thats about all I can think of...

I recently worked for a Hyundai dealership here in New York called "Millennium Hyundai" I worked there for nearly a year, comissions were great as so was the "stress", anyway, while I stayed at the dealership, I got to drive all of the cars plues many other cars from other dealerships such as Toyota, Honda and Nissan. I can tell you guys, that the 06' Sonata I4 absolutely KILLS the toyota Camry I4 and Nissan Altima in performance, and standard features, much more safer and the pick up was a lot better. (not to mention the Sonata V6) :sly:

OK, I got more from what I expected, then, I compared other cars like the Hyundai Elantra with the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla, the winner to me and other salespeople was the Civic...BUT!!! the Elantra, again, came with better standard features, a very affordable MSRP, and more room definetely than the Corolla and Civic.
Although Hyundai proved me that it was a manufacturer that had raised it's reputation by making cars that are more appealing to the american market, "faster", and an excelent warranty (10yrs/100,000Miles powertrain), my favorite one was still the Toyota Avalon. Amazing performance, very comfortable, tons of features, and a very slick looking car (Now this is puting the 350Z aside of course, these makes in this area don't sell sport coupes that matches with the Z, although the S 2000 could do it, but lets just leave them aside and disscuss the "common" sedans preffered by the majority of costumers here)
And just when I was about to make my mother buy the Avalon, Hyundai announced the launch of a new vehicle that would replace the XG350..and that is the AZERA :sly: , I was astonished when it first got to the dealership, it was like hot bread coming out of the oven, I was the first one who tried it, (had to steal the keys from my manager's podium and ran towards the car like a kid who just can't wait to get on top of his new tricycle). Anyway, I turned it on, the engine was quiet as a mute, and the ride was as comfortable as first class seat on an airplane; a dream to drive. Since that day, I picked up an Azera to go wherever I had to go, during working hours of course.

Then the Accent came along, just like a baby Elantra, it even looked like an egg, nice all-around 6 airbags system, w/traction control system, ABS, side crumple zones, double reinforced steel beams on each door, and a very good MPG ratio.

The dealer is located among 6-9 more dealerships, and in the last quarter of the previous year (2005), Hyundai BEAT the others dealerships in sales...I mean can you imagine that? ok, to let you know...Millenium Toyota and Major Nissan of Garden city, sell the most cars in the whole tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) and Hyundai beat other dealerships such as Mazda, Honda, Chevrolet, Dodge, Saturn, Infiniti, and Mitsubishi !. I was impressed, and proud of working there, and to kick the dead horse a little more....A Hyundai saved my life, I was to leave a costumer's plate license to Toyota, (up the block) and I chose the Tucson as my ride, since my Azera was taken away by another salesman. So, I went there, got out of the parking lot on a main street and BANG!!!:ouch: I got T-boned by a Dodge RAM on my side door, the RAM FLIPPED OVER my tucson and ended up crashing against another car. I was ok, the courtain side airbag had saved my neck, head and life, passenger on the RAM....broked his nose against the steering wheel since his front airbags did not deploy.

They didn't charged me anything, the insurance covered everything, and I was of course...fired  , it was ok though, I was about to murder 3 of my four managers if I continued 1 more day there anyway.

This gave me a lot of experience in life, working as a salesperson is great in a way, and let me tell you something, those Hyundais were sold by themselves, I had to explain little to my costumers what the car was about, they knew already ;). Wel, this is it, just stoped by to share some of my experiences with Hyundais and I hope u get some info of what a Hyundai is like. I don't regret working there 👍

Ohh and BTW, my mom did get the Azera Limited (special package) I got it for her for just $ 23K :sly: , since the price is $33K and Invoice is $29K, Just for la mia mamma ;)

Nice little story. But you surely mean Inline-4, not V4 right?

However you want to call it, that's they way it's written in the manual and the window sticker, as well as the brochure. ;)

No one in their right mind would refer to an I4 as a V4. I've got a Kia book right here, no mention of a "Vee-Four" anywhere. I downloaded the brochure for the Accent, and they refer to the engine as a "Inline 4 cylinder engine."

It was a simple mistake on your behalf, its no big deal.

It's ok, I must have been high or something by saying or remembering that..J/K :sly: anyway, thanks for the heads up there 👍
