A few minutes ago i finished Level 40 in the A-Spec mode. I have to mention that it took almost forever and over 30 Million XP points to get there. The prize car given to me was a Ferrari 2010 Formula One Race Car, i also got a RUF, better known as tunes Porsche (Ultra Turbo or 911 GT-R9, i believe) prototype for completing the Endurance level.

I am only at Level 32 at B-Spec so i dont know what will await me on winning Level 40, nor do i know what price car will be awarded.
Gran Turismo 5 is a let down so far, considering the 5 years of developement. However i am waiting for more updates and patches to come, such as 1.04 as I believe will introduce Leaderboards. Greetings from Northern-Sweden! Holger van de Linde

That's it ? 30 Million EXP for a F1 and Standard ? At Level 40 the game should show a message "okay, you did it. Here's Infinite Money."
So we can either
A. Grind for 15 Million Credits
B. Grind for 30 Million EXP

Anyone else reeeeaaalllly hoping for a chance to buy these off PSN for like 2 or 3 bucks in the future ?

Nope! Things like that would make the cars and game lose their shine. It's kinda like the "Birthday Car" thing and how they ruined the value of the Miura, Mark IV, 330 P4, and the Jag.

The Birthday car was a cool idea shame people want to cheat by exploiting it. Oh well there are always those who are not willing to play a game the way it is meant to be played.

Good idea and horrible implementation. I personally would have had to wait 10 months and who knows wtf I would have gotten... Some micro car with 12hp or god's gift to the automotive world.

Almost as bad as bspec which was both a horrible idea and horrible implementation.

It's only every 2 or 3 months this wonderful myth comes round again.

Ruf = Ruf. Ruf != Porsche. Porsche = Porsche.

Ruf is a manufacturer, named after its founder Alois Ruf, and not a tuner in respect of the cars in GT. The Ruf RGT is a Ruf RGT, not a tuned Porsche. The Ruf 3400S is a Ruf 3400S, not a tuned Porsche. The Ruf CTR2 Yellowbird is a Ryf CTR2 Yellowbird, not a tuned Porsche. And so on, and so on, and so on.

congrats dude! I'm only on level 9 B-Spec and level 26 on A-Spec. This is gonna take me a lot longer to reach level 40, but thanks for the info on what you can hope to win for getting there :)

congrats man and can you gift me some XP:) i'm only level 37 bspec, by Sunday i will be at 40 and then I will continue my Aspec.

Ok. They're still built from porsche chasis/body.

tdk

No, they're built from a Ruf chassis. It's stamped with a Ruf chassis code - it just happens to have been originally made in Stuttgart.

That's pretty rad, I don't think I have grinding single player in me though :(

I am level 35 Bspec letting bob run around the 24 Hour at Le Mans. He has already completed it once early this morning and didn't quite get enough experience to even hit 36, so I restarted it again and locked the ps3 down for another day. Is there a faster way to get to level 40 using a different endurance race?

funny how they all look like porsches

BTR, CTR look like 930
CTR 2 looks like 993
RGT looks like 996
3400S looks like Boxster

I think they are built from unmarked Porsche bodies and chassis' so Ruf can stamp their own code on the chassis and modify the body the way they want.
The difference is that Ruf could modify them to make them a unique chassis that will not be found in a Porsche.
So you are correct about them being unique from Porsche. Would you agree that they are "cousins" in a way? ;)

grats on 40. Any other features unlocked or something in the game that you've seen/experienced?

Decent prize car(s), just not mind-blowing for around the clock playing for 3 weeks straight though.....

saying a Ruf is not a Porsche is the same as saying a Saleen is not a Mustang... and an AMG is not a Merc.

I think you need to talk to PD about that then. In a few Ruf descriptions the word Porsche is sprinkled around like salt and pepper.

But isn't the RUF GT9 the midengined supercar with the front end of a 911 and not much else.. is this car really in the game or is it a typo?

and not a variant of the 911 like the other RUF's..

saying a Ruf is not a Porsche is the same as saying a Saleen is not a Mustang... and an AMG is not a Merc.

RUF = Car manufacturer building RUF cars.
AMG = Inhouse tunign company tuning Mercedes cars.

The matter of the fact is, RUF cars aren't tuned Porsche, otherwise they wouldn't be in the game due to requiring a Porsche license.

Lol at this whole Porsche/Ruf debate!
Watching a documentary on the story of Ruf some weeks ago here on GTP - on a thread about the correct way to pronounce Ruf :)- even a former partner/family friend called them a tuner, hastily correcting himself.
It's what Ruf started off being anyway...

On topic: a premium Ruf in the game would be an amazingly good surprise!

Okay, this is getting way off topic here. The discussion is the prize car available at lvl. 40 in GT5 not the differences between an Ruf and a Porsche. Back on topic, please.

Yeah... you are gonna have to prove that claim, otherwise it didn't happen...
