How have you deduced the game is "Very easy" from the premise that the game is "not forgiving enough"? Curious on that.
My guess is, he played it and crashed into a wall because he was going too fast or just sucked balls in general and decided he didnt like it, then he went back to TDU where he can drive around corners as fast as he wants with 0 skill, no problem.
This thread has angered me, i did not know that somebodies level of ignorance or stupidity could reach so high.... Is he just trolling? if so then i've been trolled. Surely nobody can be that thick..
Rfactor and TDU in the same subject? You realise that Rfactor is the basis for the simulation that the formula 1 teams use? Ferrari Virtual Academy is the simulation (strictly F1 sim) used to recruit top drivers for ferrari's F1 academy (much like GT academy) and iRacing is the very expensive monthly service racing simulation service, widely known to be the most accurate commercial simulation available?
I think we're on a different page here.
my point is, no simulation game comes close to real life driving
why do so many not like the fgt? i drove the whole championship with aids off (including the wet races) and it was one of the best things in gt5, and the only championship which was any challenging. although having driven the f 2007 only it was not that fun,
also out of all the sims why is nobody mentioning Live for speed? for realism it wipes the floor with the lot of them (except iracing but monthly fees.......no no no)
However, the only thing that can get annoying for me overtime is some of the engine sounds of F1's. Watching Formula 1 races sometimes is like watching a bunch of little flies buzzing across the track. It does not have those mighty roaring engines I love from other racing motorsports.
Blasphemy. The sound is probably half the reason I watch F1.
^^this:tup:
Attention: I like the McLaren F1 though (even if single seated)
I just find F1 boring...
Anybody else feel this way?
MichaelJPI agree with Bigbazz, I don't think Polyphony's simulation engine works very well with the F1 cars and upwards. In my experience of simulation programming, it's very hard to write an engine which covers such a wide envelope as PD try to cover. The sweet spot for me in GT5 is cars like the DTMs, or the Ford GT40 LM or the M3 GTR race car, which handle beautifully.
I don't like the F1 type cars in GT5, they just dont feel real, theres nothing connected about them. In other games/sims though i really enjoy them.
Rfactor, iRacing and Ferrari Virtual academy have fantastic physics for F1 type cars and the experience is much more how you would expect, the physics are just so much more accurate, along with the FFB coding that runs through them it makes driving them an engaging experience, you can apply proper techniques and logic to them. I found the F1 type cars in GT5 to feel really dead, fake and well, un natural, they drive really strange and how way too much grip, but then they lose grip in strange situations, i just don't get them. The X1 is probably the best of the lot, aside from its ridiculous speed and grip.
I just don't like driving them. It was the same in GT3/4. I know I suck at driving them, and don't give them a chance by practicing, but it's too stressful and not fun for me to try. I much prefer driving slower cars.
