I've owned gt5 for since last christmas and I've only ever raced with a ds3. Wow what a difference a wheel makes, I never thought it would be this drastic of a difference. A gt force is worth every penny!

Agreed, its beyond me why people play racing games like GT5 and Forza with a controller, I can understand if you can't afford a wheel, but if you can, theres no excuse not to have one. Glad you're enjoying it.

A wheel isn't needed if you're only a casual racer.

Unfortunately, it took me 13 years and endless hours to realize that I wasn't a casual racer.

I like your comment.

Well for Xbox most wheels don't work for it... About the only ones I can think of are one of the Fanatecs and the ones made for Xbox... But both are expensive and the Xbox wheel completely sucks. PS3/GT5 is compatable with almost every wheel out there as far as I know

My G27 is the probably my best/favorite gaming investment. If anyone has a chance to get a wheel for this game, don't hesitate!

Yeah, any good quality wheel for that matter... My DFGT has made me SO MUCH better in PC sims so far. On the Openspeedway server of NR2003 I have been qualify and finishing consintently in the top-5 at all tracks the sever ventures to... With the exception of Tally and Tona, which are just luck

Getting my G27 for GT5 was really worth the money!

And after a good 7 months with the wheel, its still alot of fun using it to play with... :D

I started playing gt3 in 2003. The only race i did not finish in the game is the one with formula cars. It was almost the same story with gt5 until i finally decided to buy a dfgt. Now im playing with renewed interest. I always thought i would be faster but did not realize the added fun factor.

Its easy to justify not buying a wheel, but in all, and most sincere honesty, you're just not getting the full GT5 experience if you aren't using one.

Congrats on the purchase OP, what do you use for a stand? (also a very important part of the wheel!)

Congrats OP. I have found no better experience on a console than GT5 with a wheel. Turn off the hud and all screen details, then take a rainy night cruise with some friends at the 'Ring. 👍

Don't forget to look for some inexpensive ways to stiffen the pedals. I used bungee cords on my DFGT until I got my G27.

Took me a while to adapt from stick to G27, had to go back to basic tracks and cars to get a feel for it. Absolutely hated it at first,.. and I don't think I'm the only one who had problems adjusting,.. absolutely love it now

Jumping into a high power car using seat/wheel and have it go wildly out of control was very offputting for me,.. thought there was something wrong with it when it turned on and didn't stop dead centre,.. google searches led me to youtube videos of people having the same 'problem',.. but it was me that needed to be calibrated !
