Hey folks, me again, same problem, different killer ;) Heheh...

Anyway, Was trying to get the R390 from the GT All Stars, I believe, in Pro. Basically got left behind by the R390. So, anyone got any suggestions as to what car might bring the fight right up the R390's gearbox? Also, if the car had to be won, where might I get it from? Thanks people :)

What car have you tried/got ?

I had my F1 by then but still struggled a little the first time through.

I struggled at Midfield and Seattle and had to tune the F1 car.

The R390 will beat the F1 in your hands if you dont' drive at its limit or don't tune it well. Well that is my experience.

Basically it depends on your driving skill, tuning skill and which cars you have out of:

Mazda 787B
R390 Race Car
Toyota GT 1 race car
F1 (preferable)

I have heard of a fully tuned RX7 LM coming close but you would need to be a very good driver.

Look here for where to find cars. I think there are still 1 or 2 errors in it though. Also the F1s are available at any of the endurance races, Dream Car Championship Pro (racing against the fantasy LM cars), Polyphony Digital Cup Pro (non tuned cars only), Formula GT Pro (F1 cars). You need an S license for these last few.

You have your IA License so go to the enduros and get an F1. Seattle and Speedway are about 50 minutes in an F1 or probably 60 in an NSX Race car.

Gumpy my man, glad you showed up :)

OK, the best cars I've got are the Calsonic Skyline, Arta NSX, and the RX-7 LM Race Car. I tried with the NSX, didn't exactly drive too clean, but I know how well I can do, and the R390 would still leave me behind.

Yeah, I already figured this out. I'll have to really beat it, to the true sense of the word.

Well, I'm probably gonna kill myself trying it, and I'm going to go the hardware path first.

I've got the S Licence, and I'll probably try to get an F1 car.

Thanks very much, gumpy.

i say just grab a Toyota GT-One Road Car (TS020) from the Amateur GT series. (10 race series...should be 2nd race of amateur series)

Well, I'm sure the GT-One Race car would do the trick, but would the road car be worth trying? Or maybe I'd better try the LM cars. I've got the RX-7 LM

I think it is personal preference. I have not tried to do anything ambitious with any of the LM Cars. But in my testing I felt the RX7 was the most stable and the best able to handle 1000hp.

The S2000 was a bit too twitchy for me but I guess it depends on our driving style. I guess my driving style is that I like to drive and steer relatively hard.

The GT1 road car is about 200+ hp down on the race car and I don't really like either.

So in summary if it was me I would try:

F1
R390
787B
RX7 LM

I've got the RX-7 LM, so I'll try that. I'm trying to get the R390, so I'm **** out of luck there. I'd rather try to win an F1 car than to get the 787B. By the way, which was the best F1 again?

Honestly, though, can anyone give me the settings for the 787B for all the tracks of the Pro GT All Stars? I want to give it a shot, only I don't usually set up my cars ( :banghead: ).

Wouldn't you be fine even without tuning your car Sandstorm? Anyway, the F1 is the best to use if you want to wallop everyones arses.

Do you have PAL or NTSC ?

If PAL I would say Polyphony 001.

IF NTSC I think it is either the F094s or F094h there is a thread on this issue I will see if I can find it.

But i think the F090/s would probably do the job, it would be between the P001 and 002 if it was in the PAL version...

Good thing you're lying now Sandstorm, isn't it...;)

Yeah definitely. Any F1s being driven well and tuned well are no match for the R390 (when it is in AI hands).

To make the Final Series easy you probably need one of the better F1 cars though.

I'm on PAL. OK, so I'll see what I can do to get the Polyphony 001.

And incidentally, I'm avoiding using the Escudo. First princple only to be compromised if completely necessary : Drive not, cars I deem butt ugly

And thanks for the link, I got it. Incidentally, I'm ignorant to the differences in the PAL and NTSC versions. What's up with that?

Run the SuperSpeedway, it's a very good race and you can win the Polyphony 001 from it.

There are various rumors but not fact as far as I know.

Some people think it may be that the PAL version uses more of the disc so they had to cut down the F1 cars from 6 to 2. This is possible as I believe that some of the hidden cars are not in the PAL version either.

Another possibility is that most Formula 1 races are in PAL countries so they may need to further disguise the F1 cars for those countries since they dont have a license agreement to use them in a recognisable form.

F1 cars: I've already won the Poly001 from SS, and now I'm after the F686/M from the F1 Cup, but it's gonna be an absolute b!tch. I can blitz the field (after 4 laps of the 1st race I was 20 seconds ahead) but it takes ages to complete.

That was my first F1. You could use any of your MR cars there. It is quite easy to win. In the LM Cars you should win by close to 20 laps. I won by 19 laps first time out in an Altezza. I got the light blue Polyphony 001. It is the same as the F094s shown in the Polyphony Digital Cup here

You can't however guarantee your colours. They are random and I have won 2 or 3 different colours there.

Untuned F1s will win. First time round I used it untuned and struggled. Now I could probably win with it untuned.

It all depends on if your driving style / skill suit an untuned F1 or not.

If you want more F1s you can try the Seattle Endurance. In an F1 it is only about 50ish minutes. The F1 cup is longer. and remembr the Cote race in the F1 cup is the same as the enduro (78 laps).

You could also try the Roadster enduro but onyl try it with the 1.8i (ie the one with the highest hp) mx5 with super slicks. Don't stress if you get behind early as the leader pits every 3 laps and you will soon be in front. This is the 3rd shortest enduro.
