Now I just need to find a place that can give me the tail lights that I want.

The ones from the pictures above.

You're talking about Kouki (last gen of 180sx's) tail lights. You can get them all over gods green earth.

To get you started off:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...em=2464285340&category=33716#ebayphotohosting

Chances are, all the JDM parts you'll want will be Kouki for your 240, assuming you dont go Silvia front end.

I don't know what I want to do yet.

I've VERY fond of the 180sx and everything it has going for it.

But I also like the Silvia front ends.

I don't know, only time will tell.

Ebay is ok for body parts, I wont do anything mechanical from them though. That link I gave you, thats an actual company selling, you can usually trust those.

If ebay doesnt suit your fancy, like I said, they can be found all over gods green earth. JDM parts for nissan cars grow on trees.

Kouki Tail lights from non-ebay souce: http://www.jspec.com/kouk180taill.html

Cosmetics should be far from what you're worried about though right now. At the moment, you have a stock 240sx, lots of work will need to be done (I'm feeling your pain over here in texas, my coupe 240 is a joke right now, but tomorrow my swap will happen and then I can gun for large things). I'm not even going to think about doing a silvia front end until my swap is done, I have my 300zx brakes, Kei-office suspension, apex'i n1 exhaust, etc.

Okay, maybe one of you can answer this for me.

Cause' I'm kinda confused.

Maybe this is just "owner loyalty" but why do I have a very strong feeling that the KA24 has more potential than the SR20?

Maybe it's the displacement or maybe it's because the KA isn't turbochaged yet. I don't know. I mean, I know that the SR20 has more valves per cylinder than the KA but you can't overlook the fact that the KA is NOT turbo charged and the fact that it has more displacement.

I don't know, maybe one of you can help out.

KA24E, thats what your car has as it is a 90 (Nissan threw the KA24DE in 91+ SE models). What you have in your car is a SOHC truck motor. Truck motor you may ask? Yes, Nissan took the big **** on you and snuck a truck motor in your S13. You now share the same motor as Nissan base pickups, Frontiers, etc. Now, to turbo charge that truck motor, it would end up costing you more than a front end clip.

The KA24DE has minimal potential, the KA24E has even less. Do the right thing Brother, restore your car to what it should be, a 2L Turbo sideways machine.

Yeah, I knew about the whole truck motor thing, me and one of my Sergeants were talking about that whilst I was still in Japan. We were discussing about how the American s13s were degraded by having a SOHC truck motor sitting under their bonnets.

I wanted to get the SR20 anyway, but I also was heavily looking into getting the RB20, either way, this will be a car that will surpass all.

Now only one question remains . . . . ..

GRIP

or

DRIFT. . . . . . . . . . . . .

nah guys,..a sweet conversion for the 180sx would be an rps13 body with a kaouki s14 front end.
i have a pic somewhere......

I just got through chasing a Stratus RT around the parking garage, it's like a non-stop action spree. Pillars and cars everywhere and me pullin the ebrake around turns. LOL! I don't think I've had this much fun in a while. We coulda got in sooooo much trouble.

But, we made it through, I was puttin the heat on and he almost ran into a truck that was coming around this blind curve, LOL, he took it as any FWD car would, me, I slamed the clutch home and popped it back in place. SKEEEERRRRRRR, I flew around that turn and had to brake because he wasn't going as fast. But the RT suprised me because it was very very fast on the straights. And he pulled away from me on some of those turns too. The turns were unbeliveable, if we weren't on our game like we were, constantly looking out for each other, we would have for sure, crashed.

The only thing was, since I drive a stick and I didn't have a passenger, I couldn't get any video, but I do hae video of me just driving around the garage, and I'll let you see it when I get it up on the computer, when you see these turns you'll be surprised that we actually took it these turns in any gear besides first. LOL!

Pics and vids to come.

It's Kouki, and that isn't a very good showcase for the conversion. That front bumper is ugly, and the grill isn't painted. If this conversion is done well, it looks fantastic..... I actually prefer the Sharkface to the strawberry conversion......

;)

Personally..I'd keep the popups and get a kouki 180sx kit for it or an M-Sports kit or something. The only front end conversions that I like on the S13 hatchback are the s13 and s15 silvia fronts. It also depends on the type of bumper/body kits you use for the conversion.
Either way. Contrats on the car man!

You see, Ethix, that's why I like you, we think so much alike.

I'm sooooo thinking about keeping the pop ups, I like the Initial D look to them.

They look really cool from inside the cockpit. I'll look into that 180 kit you mentioned.

"What did the hand say to the face?"

There's so much you can do to a 180... i know your car's gonna be bangin...

my LSD and 50/50 weight distribution say bring it on. wonder if that KA24 can handle the power of a rotary? :O

I wonder if YOU can handle the power of the rotary, I guess the Emporer only worries about the power of his mis-firing system in this case.
