Currently i'm on a B-Spec Marathon .

I've made a few Observations regarding the AI .

I'm doing the Ring 4 Hour Endurance and just for the Sake of it trying Diferent Cars with B-Spec , just to see how Bob's and the AI Act

In the first few Races I used a Nissan GTR GT500 Stealth , simple because its only 500cr to Refurbish the Engine or Chassis and I figured it'd be cheaper to run that lots of miles .

When using the Stealth in the 4 hours the Car would cover 26 Laps and usually be half a lap ahead of the AI if I didn't Button Mash the bob's with Pace Up and just let them get on with it .

Just for a Experiement I'm using the Minolta same as above no Pace Up just let the Bobs do there thing .

Whats suprising me is now the Minolta is covering 30 Laps in the 4 hours but the AI is also running faster even though there using the same cars as they used against the Slower Stealth that usually ran 25 .

It looks like the AI will actually be Running 27 Laps instead of the usual 25 ?

So over the 4 hours there somehow making up Nearly 17 mins to add those extra laps ?

One other thing that made me laugh the Minolta Pitted at 3 hours 59 mins and 10 secs to take on fuel tyres and another Bob so its got to do another lap

Rubber banding? Better conditions? Staying as a pack for more drafting? There are a lot of variables to check.

I don't have the scientific analysis to prove it, but I'm 99.9% certain that rubberbanding is indeed alive and well in GT5. I've seen way too many shady instances of the AI miraculously catching up to both myself and my AI driver when they theoretically should not have been able to.

I'll vouch for rubber band. One of the indianapolis races I gained a 4 second lead on lap 1 then stayed there for the rest of the race. With consistent lap times (earned a human chronometer and everything) I should have been pulling at least 2-3 secs per lap.

I think it would have been nice, if the AI driver who get laped, make room for the leading cars, so they can overtake without problems.

I´ve seen it quite some times now in b-spec:

The AI strictly stays on the driving lane, slows the leading cars down, intead of letting them pass.

Spending more time in B-spec it does look like there is rubber banding in B-spec mode. I couldn't explain otherwise that you can spin out in one of the oval race, fell more than half a lap behind, and catch back up in a couple of laps to win....

A-spec, not so much, a fast car will win by a big margin if I drive without mistake.

Run the FGT Championship on Nurburgring and tell me the AI adapts. :) (See my thread on the subject for what I'm talking about.)
