I think those pictures and the coding is probably the long part. I don't know about you, but I don't have trouble finding prices and specs.

PS

I'm certain that you do, since I've never heard anyone say to the contrary. In fact, I've debuted this site on three forums, and I've gotten around ten replies about how difficult it is to find reliable statistics in one place (supercars.net doesn't count).

I like it.

I also like how you used some of your own pictures. It seperates you from the alot of the other car sites. Maybe one day, you'll beat Fast-Autos...;)

The best part (I think) is that unlike fast-autos and supercars, my page isn't filled with unbelievably loud advertisements and constant pop-up ads. :D

And unlike them, your stats will be reliable.

SC.net is full of made up numbers.

I noticed a mistake for the Pontiac Grand Am. You have a 2.4 L OHV 6 cyl when it should be a 3.4L OHV 6 cyl. Great site otherwise. ;)

At the moment I think the site is too plain. You need some borders and boxes to put everything in place neatly.

Check out www.whatcar.co.uk theyre basically the samte thing that your working on and its got all the technical details with it.

That's advertising, Doug, I'm afraid we'll have to close this.

That's exactly what it is - but it's good advertising.

I like the site - it's very useful with a lot of great information. 👍

Is the Miata production years a mistake or did you mean that was the end of the first generation Miata? Last I check Miata was still in production.

Nice site - I am hoping for more cars in the future. 👍

Good job, Doug! I do like the efficiency of your website. I can't wait until you add more cars and manufacturers. First two brands I looked for was Nissan and Honda. :D

Also wanted to point this out:

M5Power's site
How CarSource Came to Be
CarSource was born in 2001, when I filled a with automotive data simply because I was interested. That year, I named the Subaru Outback "Car of the Year." CarSource blossomed from there - 2002 saw the Nissan Altima V6 as "Car of the Year" and once again was in notebook format, but with the 2003 model year (and the Honda Accord V6 named "Car of the Year") CarSource was converted almost entirely to a few WordPad documents filled with data. Once the data was processed, it was simplified and the best cars in each segment were named.
:p

We do miss you around here. Hope you can visit more often. :)

Wth?

They're 2 VERY different sites Young. They're nothing alike.

Doug's is for knowledge and resource purposes.
WhatCar is for car shopping.

Jeez, a simple child could have figured the difference between them.
Why don't you just say, Doug's is like Vehix.com while you're at it.

:D Thanks, that's exactly the stuff I'm looking for. It's been corrected.

We go generation by generation. Arguably the Miata/MX-5 will soon be entering its third generation; I personally believe 1990-2004 is one long generation but the majority of people disagree with me. :)

Got a Honda up tonight. Unfortunately, the current CR-V. More to come!

His site has technical specs on each model with various different engines etc. Whatcar holds all these specs and more so he could easily enough get some reliable info from that site.

Nice site. I like the style of it, though it's a bit... blank. But it's a refreshing site after getting used to sites with ads.

And you should put the manufacturers list on a border/frame which would stay on the side all the time. It would make the site quadrillion times better navigation-wise.

Anyway, great job, bookmarked the site 👍

Doug you better add your review to each car so I have something to do when I'm board.

Also this will really help with the car arguements we have around here, this way people can just jump on your site and firgure everything out. It will also make your job easier because you won't have to put those morons in there places and bust out your mad crazy car knowing skillz (Yes with the Z).

I wonder how long it took him to gather all that knowledge of cars...

*Indirect question/thinking out loud.

But their purposes are very different.

Doug's is to find out and just learn about cars.

WhatCar is to find out what car is the best for what you are looking for.
I don't think Doug needs to be using a Car Buying site's specs on different cars.
Besides, its better to find out them out for a site by researching the stats rather than just copy and paste or whatever from another site. It actually helps you understand the car more by researching the stats...Besides, how many times do you think Doug is going to put minivans or Honda sedans on his site from WhatCar?
