So what's the deal with all these sites that offer free crap like ipods, xbox's, tv's, cell phones, etc. I've heard they actually give out free things but you have to go through a lot of junk. I tried once but quit when they started asking me to sign up with some sponsors. From what I understand you have to sign up with like 3 or 4 of thier sponsors and you get whatever free thing they're giving out. What do they do, end up sending junk mail to your house and email? I'm just curious because I'm actually thinking about trying one out just to see if it works, but I dont feel signing up for a credit car or gym membership I'll never use, or putting up with hoards of junk mail.

All i have to say

Some make you pay for a program to get your stuff. It's like sitting through an expensive shares deal except 99% of the time, you'll have to pay to get something.

Well, most require you to sign up to several different things at the same time. They're all free, but they are all used for marketing research. To make it more lucrative for the investing companies, you kinda *have* to give valid info or else they won't ship the iPod. Then to actually get it, you have to get something like 10 people to sign up for the same service.

Depending on how much the marketing agencies pay for these signups, the company running the free XYZ campaign will earn enough money from your registration and the 10 others to buy and ship the free item. If the other 10 want the item, they'd have to do the same.

The companies that pay for this obviously want in because they get a pretty large source of information to help their market research activities. After all, if you want the free item, you need to convince 10 other people to come on board with you. If those 10 *really* want it, they'll do the same. With the method, one person can provide these companies with as many as 100 new people to market to and retrieve information from.

Just stop being a cheapskate and buy your stuff.

Problem solved.

HAHA Agreed 👍 ............... I tried it once and just gave up and went out and bought what they where "giving way".

They are just viruses, ignore them.
The posters above you, or the free offers?

back on topic, I've yet to hear of anyone actually getting a free anything off the web. Well, a few perv's got a free ride to jail via MySpace.

Let me rephrase it a bit. Nothing worthwhile, for free.

I'd be interested in your experience, and honestly, it'd be a great addition to the review section of GTP.

The only things I've ever got free of the 'net is registering my PSP to www.yourpsp.com. I got a free Spiderman UMD, and later on a useful UMD zip-able case. I doubt they do it anymore, though.

I certainly wouldn't trust those other offers though. They're basically too good to be true...

It's absolute crap, by all means DO NOT click any ads, they are a scam ad just give you viruses.

These are just spams.
That clog up your email inbox with 🤬
Some can also give you viruses
