What would you consider a better setup?
Definitely not automatic gears, no matter what.

TCS is a personal preference, but by definition slows you down from your fastest potential time. Of course you might not be able to achieve your fastest potential time due to losing traction so it's a balancing act. That said, never any higher than 2, and I would never go higher than 1 anyway (unless preserving rear tyres during a long race or one with high tyre wear).

Try killing Active Stability Management and set ABS to Weak. ASM tends to slow the car a bit. ABS at Weak seems to allow a tad more straight line braking at the expense of some trail braking ability.
To counteract the effects of lower TCS practice applying the throttle gradually. Shifting sooner helps too.
You should also be able to look in the car settings and see where the best HP and torque outputs are. Keep the tach between those numbers if you can.

Definitely use MT. Being this car is a three-pedal gate-shifter, it takes a lot of time and kills the momentum of the car. Don't be afraid to come out of some corners in a higher gear than you may think (recommend watching replays of the top time(s)); the non-up-shifting on acceleration saves a lot of time.

See what you can do about the TC as well. Stick to 1 and try it out. 1 isn't very invasive.

And yes, expect to fail a lot and crash with the lower TC. But once you get the hang of it you'll be better off for it. Which is, indeed, the point of these licenses tests after all!

I’ve been trying to mostly use MT and switching between 3rd and 4th gear and I feel like that’s been helping a bit. I’m literally 3 milliseconds away from gold at this point. I will keep trying until I get gold.
