Me and my friend race the same cars against each other all the time to see who is the better driver, and I beat him 95% of the time. Anyway I like Jaguars so much because I like luxury cars, and at the same time they are fast as hell, hence there slogan "50 years of speed and style". So **** Japanese cars they are cheap ass pices of s*it! Drive a real f*uckin car! I dust my friends 3000GT all the time with the un-suped Viper or Corvette.
You know I took a shower, got dressed and did some math. If it wasn't for all the bad language I probably would have let this go and just "sucked it up and driven on".
We have a saying at church in reference to loud preachers "if you have a weak point, SHOUT". 'Nuff said.
Before I tell you my conclusions: What do you base your "real men" statement on?
I noted that You are here in the States and your first choice car is the XJ220. That is the smartest thing you've copped to. But we'll get back to that in a minute.
The Viper and Vette, great cars. I think they are fabulous. But, if you do the math. Even a "big engine" car like a Skyline or a 300ZX, which is actually available here in the states, is WAY more volumentrically efficient.
A Viper makes 449 HP out of an 8.0 liter engine. That's 56 HP/liter.
A Skyline with a 276HP output from 2.6L engine makes 106HP/liter.
An RX-7 with its dinky 1.3L engine makes 212HP/liter.
I said earlier you were smart to choose the Jag. It makes 516HP out of 3.5L. (the road car) Which is 147HP/liter to the Mitsu's 96 HP/liter.
Japanese cars, Hondas and Nissans in particular come from the factory with a short block that can withstand 2-3 times stock power output. You add a turbo/supercharger and upgrade fuel management and you are safely running 300-400HP in cars with 2.0 liter and below motors. If you get into the "big blocks" (2.5Liter and up) 600HP is not uncommon. So you've put 10 grand into a $15,000-20,000 car (240sx, Civic, Prelude, Sentra, Supra, 300ZX)
Before you mod a Viper or Vette to with stand double or triple stock power, you will need to spend SERIOUS cash on the bottom end of the motor to make it strong enough for the job.
Real
men do the best they can on what they can afford. Spoiled Rich
boys have daddies that buy them $80,000 Vipers and $50,000 Vettes so they can try to keep up.
here endeth the rant.
