Right, I'll explain again for you.
YES after the first 6 updates I manually installed each and every update individually, ran the game, deleted the game data, then repeated.
Why did you delete the game data?
For some reason the 8th or 9th update refused to install to the XMB, the PS3 froze, and I had to restart it and I lost ALL the previous updates too.
Outside the game, yes, as you said. And since it's outside the game, processing no game data and not interacting with game files in any way, how can the problem be in the game?

That's your PS3 locking up at XMB. If you've flicked the switch off at this stage, it'd be worth you doing a file system check, because cutting the power while writing to HDD is bad.
Why did I never have this problem with any other game?
What other games have you tried - aside from COD and BF, which you haven't tried...
Probably due to the vast number of updates.
And the terrible internet, yes.
"Have you actually run the game? You'll find you can play it without having to download anything just fine."

Thats it? thats the answer? play it without installing any updates?
Well, I did say much earlier in this exchange:
In your case you can either play it without updates and/or wait until you are somewhere with more reliable internet to update it.
All my time and money wasted and thats all?
I'm not wholly sure how you've wasted money at this point, unless you've bought lots of microtransactions or taken days off work, but sure, why not.

You're trying to update a game with very large updates in a location you know has appalling internet infrastructure. That you tried is valiant, but that you keep trying and want to throw blame as far and wide as you can is much less so.

You could just play GT6. It works as it is. There's not a colossal difference between what's on the disc and v1.22 bar a couple of tracks, some cars, two Special Event modes and the course maker. Of course you won't be able to play online, but I very much doubt you would be able to anyway.

I got past that... what has internet got to do with failed installation? Nothing

And as I said, I have about 20 games... most updated.
Only 2 or 3 i didnt update

But.. GT6 is innocent still it seems..

It does, if your internet cuts out and it doesn't download the update properly.
